Story Highlights
- Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a JRPG that the world’s got its eyes on, being one of Capcom’s flagship IPs.
- A new trailer for the game has been released, showcasing the Mystic Spearhand Vocation in full flight.
- The Spearhand is great for combat at all ranges, whether up close or distanced, thanks to its versatility.
Capcom is gearing up to release what appears to be one of the finest JRPGs in town later this month, but before it actually does that, here’s a new Vocation trailer that’s given me true perspective. The Mystic Spearhand looks like it was made for players like me—players who prefer to have options and can take on both ranged and close-quarters combat without breaking a sweat. Looks like I’m sorted for the better part of the game.
Taking a look at the trailer, Spearhands will be able to employ their teleportation abilities to get the jump on their foes. This will be extremely useful for taking on bigger enemies, like that flying eagle-like creature in the start that just got bamboozled out of nowhere, thanks to the Vocation’s instant full-body transfer. The official description of this character class is defined by Capcom as,
The Mystic Spearhand, a vocation available only to the Arisen, combines melee and magick, making them a well-balanced vocation that is effective from any range. The Mystic Spearhand is a master of their unique weapon, the Duospear. Using magick, they can paralyze enemies or hurl multiple objects at them.”
The best part about the Mystic Spearhand Vocation is that it also happens to incorporate forms of magic outside of teleportation, like how we see one sequence in the trailer where the class is hurtling a wolf at another beast, which is absolutely mental, to say the least. Speaking of magic, however, Capcom has revealed a number of other pertinent Vocations for Dragon’s Dogma 2, including the Sorcerer, Magick Archer, and Mage.
