EA Sports FC 24 Surpasses 14.5 Million Players 4 Weeks After Launch

EA proving once again that it will do just fine without the FIFA branding.

Story Highlights

  • EA’s latest fiscal year report reveals EA Sports FC 24 reached 14.5M players in 4 weeks post-launch.
  • The game initially surpassed FIFA 23’s sales of 10.3M in its debut week.
  • These sales prove that EA can survive without the FIFA branding.

According to EA’s latest fiscal year report, EA Sports FC 24 has surpassed 14.5 million players in just four weeks after the games launch. CFO Stuart Canfield expressed that the transition to EA Sports FC was a significant accomplishment for EA, with the global football business surpassing expectations. Net bookings for the football business grew by 41% YoY which was driven by the strong demand for FC 24.

Within the first four weeks after worldwide launch, over 14.5 million fans have played FC 24 on console and premium PC, including double-digit growth in new players. FC Mobile has established new franchise records, with over two million people installing the game on the first day, over five million in the first three days, and over 11 million in the first ten days.”

This accomplishment further solidifies that FC 24 can stand on its own without the FIFA branding. The game already garnered 11.3 million players in its debut week, surpassing FIFA 23’s previous record of 10.3 million players. Furthermore, to stand out from previous FIFA games, the game introduced Career Mode, AcceleRATE 2.0, and HyperMotionV technology to enhance gameplay fluidity.

Despite its success, the game encountered significant issues, including a game-breaking bug in Career Mode where firing a coach causes the screen to freeze. Despite ongoing updates, this problem remains unresolved, with numerous users reporting the bug on EA Forums. However, these issues haven’t overshadowed the game’s overall positive reception.

EA Sports FC 24, released on September 29, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, has overhauled the overall football experience, with Ultimate Team, now allowing players to have a mix of female and male players in the same team.
