God Of War was a mega-hit for Sony in 2018. The exclusive sold well and also won several game of the year awards. The sequel got massive acclaim for its gameplay, direction, and story and is one of the best-selling PlayStation 4 games to this day. So, a PC port for this fan-favorite was a no-brainer for Sony. Everyone predicted that a PC version of the game will perform well. And since its release on January 14, 2022, God Of War has performed well on the PC.

The game has hit an amazing peak of 73K players on Steam. The title has also overtaken Monster Hunter Rise for the number one spot on the weekly sales chart. As more and more people buy the game these numbers will increase even more. The sequel has got some great numbers in only a few days. This doesn’t even account for the Epic Games Store sales which will be similar if not higher. So, this port has been a wise move by Sony. Not only does it appease fans but also brings in a lot of profit.

The success of God Of War on PC is no surprise to the fans. The Norse mythology-based game is one of the best titles in history and its subsequent sell-out on Steam is proof of that. People hope that the triumph of the game on PC will make Sony bring more games to the platform. PC has a massive audience for PlayStation exclusives. The fans want to play the much-hyped games on their PCs with ultra settings. So, a PC port for exclusives will bring in a lot of money for Sony and satisfy the fans.

Rumors about a release day PC port for PlayStation exclusives have been circulating. But, most think that a PC version of single-player exclusives will be ported only after a few years. There is hope that future multiplayer exclusives will go on the platform on day one. 

Players want to see many other PlayStation exclusives like Ghost Of Tsushima, Bloodborne, and Uncharted 4 ported to PC. So, God Of War’s success should at least make PC ports a certainty for most exclusives. Sony now knows they have a player base on the platform and they can easily earn money through it.
