Hogwarts Legacy Was The Most Played Game On Steam Deck In March

Meanwhile, Elden Ring is occupying the second place.

Story Highlights

  • Steam Deck’s official Twitter handle has recently shared the official list revealing the most played games on the portable based on the number of hours.
  • Hogwarts Legacy has dominated the list, while Elden Ring stands at the second spot. The popular indies Stardew Valley and Vampire Survivors occupy the third and fourth spots.
  • The recently released Resident Evil 4 stands at the last spot, and the remake is expected to be the included title here.
  • A slew of large-scale open-world games has also appeared on the list, signifying the Steam Deck‘s potential and the interest of the users.

As per the usual norm, Steam Deck’s official Twitter handle has recently posted the official statistics listing the top 20 most played games on the new handheld in March 2023. It appears that Hogwarts Legacy has managed to overthrow some notable entries to secure the top place. The new AAA Wizarding World venture has shadowed over the likes of Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok.

While exact hours have not been provided in the new update by Steam Deck’s social page, Hogwarts Legacy has already been played for over 406 million hours already by gamers. It has dominated the Steam storefront and the new handheld ever since its release, thereby enjoying a wave of positive reception since day one and even crashing the internet boycott entirely. It went on to sell over 100,000 copies in Japan for the PlayStation 5.

AAA Entries like Cyberpunk 2077, Grand Theft Auto 5, Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2, and the like were expected to leeway into the top 20 list on Steam Deck. It is clear that many players are interested in voyaging through the large open worlds on the go, as large-scale titles dominate the list. Some more highly notable titles also include No Man’s Sky, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

To elaborate on the other indie games on the Steam Deck list, Vampire Survivors has also surpassed many other titles to make its place, revealing its long-lasting popularity. It currently stands at the top 4th spot and has managed to gather a few awards in recent months. Vampire Survivors is a highly satisfying time survival entry with rogue-lite elements sprinkled here and there, making for a perfect pastime to slay hordes of monsters.

Moreover, the newly released Resident Evil 4 remake is the last title to populate the new list. The listing is expected to be the new reimagining instead of the original classical entry because of how much the remake has been played on Steam ever since its launch. The remake has allowed gamers to get a taste of the classic Resident Evil 4 experience through a modern lens, which stands among the most popular horror games ever created.

The listing showcasing the most played games on Steam Deck is based on the number of hours played by mentioned titles. The handheld has only grown in recent months, and its games catalog continues to expand daily. Moreover, the new update certainly highlights the popularity of the new little giant, which has often been compared to the Nintendo Switch at times due to a few similarities.
