Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD Gets Rated E For Everyone By ESRB

The remaster of the 2013 original is heading to the Nintendo Switch next year.

Story Highlights

  • Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD has been assigned an E for Everyone rating by the ESRB.
  • As per the rating, the game will feature mild fantasy violence and in-app purchases.
  • The remaster is set to come out in mid-2024 for the Nintendo Switch.

In a new listing, the software rating board ESRB has given the upcoming Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD an E for Everyone classification just like the original. As per the rating, the remaster will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch and feature mild fantasy violence in addition to in-game purchases. Considering how the original follows Luigi while he captures ghosts, this rating isn’t too surprising.

The rating summary from ESRB gives us even more information about Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD telling us how players will have to retrieve mysterious artifacts in the game. In addition, Luigi will have to search haunted houses using a flashlight and capture ghosts via a vacuum pack. These tasks won’t be easy as some of these evil spirits can punch Luigi, making him cry out and collapse to the ground.

However, the player will be armed with cartoony bombs and other items like seeds to help best these enemies in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. As mentioned above, this upcoming action-adventure title is the remaster of 2013’s Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, which came out on the Nintendo 3DS. A sequel to 2001’s Luigi’s Mansion, Dark Moon once again puts the spotlight on Luigi as he tries to rescue his brother from King Boo and retrieve the shards of the Dark Moon.
