Palworld Is Currently The Most Popular Xbox Game Pass Title

No surprise here, really, considering the waves this title has been sending across the industry.

Story Highlights

  • Palworld is a force to be reckoned with in the industry right now, selling millions of copies to date.
  • Apart from clocking crazy stats on Steam, the game’s now the most popular Game Pass title too.
  • On average for the past week or so, the game gets about a million players on PC daily as well.

Palworld, the new gaming realm sensation, has achieved another feat in recent times as it became the most popular title on Xbox Game Pass at the moment (thanks BenjiSales), after landing on the flagship subscription service on the very day of its release. The listings have revealed that Pocketpair’s latest venture has outclassed the rest of the competition on Xbox right now, including Minecraft and Hell Let Loose.

For those who missed it, Palworld crossed the 2-million concurrent player mark on Steam lately, overtaking Cyberpunk 2077 to become the second-highest most-played game on Valve’s platform while getting left only behind by PUBG, with its humongous 3 million+ all-time user peak. And to get you up to speed, Palworld has rolled over a remarkable 8 million units to date. Crazy.

That said, the game isn’t without its fair share of controversy, harsh critique, and overall hate from the fan base of one particular franchise as well—Pokemon. Amid growing concerns of blatant imitation of various Pokemon characters, hence the fan-labeled title for Palworld “Pokemon with guns,” the game has been under fire left and right ever since it started to sell so well.

Taking into account user concerns and everything else, The Pokemon Company finally broke silence on Palworld’s virality yesterday, releasing an official statement that otherwise does not seem to say much. “We intend to investigate and take appropriate measures to address any acts that infringe on intellectual property rights related to the Pokémon,” iterated the industry giant.
