Xbox has recently launched a new strategy to bring its exclusives to other devices. In a new interview with IGN after the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 event, Phil Spencer reiterated its controversial decision and claimed, “You are going to see more of our games on more platforms.” He also clarified that he sees this decision “as a benefit to the franchises” that Xbox is “building.

Another thing worth noting is that Phil claims that players have reacted positively since they “love to be able to play” these exclusives on more devices. The rest of the interview also touches on studio closures, Xbox handheld rumors, and more.

We May See Xbox Bring Major Exclusives To PlayStation Soon

I recently did a piece on whether Xbox going multi-platform is the right decision for the overall console market. While the details are still unclear, one thing we’ve seen is that the first four Xbox titles that came out on other devices have been pretty successful so far. That explains why Phil Spencer is hinting at releasing even more games on other consoles.

Another tidbit many found weird is that there was almost no emphasis on exclusivity in the latest Xbox Games Showcase event, which further confirms these speculations.

All in all, it is best to take the words of Phil Spencer with a grain of salt. While it is indeed a confirmation, no details were confirmed regarding what games are expected to go multi-platform. So, some fans are chalking it up to be a PR talk for now. However, we’ll likely see many Xbox titles appear on other devices in the future.
