Tekken 8’s Closed Network Test Codes Are Being Sold On eBay

Again.

Story Highlights

  • Tekken 8’s closed network test codes are being sold on eBay.
  • The second batch of the closed network test will start on July 28 and will end on July 31.
  • Several scalpers have sold over 150 Tekken 8 playtest codes via eBay.

Tekken 8’s second closed network test starts on July 28 and will last till July 31, while the test codes were sent out on July 26 to the selected participants. While not everyone got selected, many players and scalpers have been selling their own test codes on eBay. Most of these codes are being sold for $6-$15, with some scalpers already having sold 150+ test codes.

We saw something similar happen after the first closed network test codes were sent out on July 19. The first Tekken 8 closed network test was held between July 21 till July 24. However, the first closed network test was only for PlayStation 5 users. Thus, the number of codes sent out wasn’t as high as it is right now. But even then, many players were selling their codes on eBay.

The second closed network test will be available to all the participants of the first closed network test and Xbox and PC players. And since Tekken 8’s release date or any other test hasn’t been announced yet, this is probably the only chance the fans have got, other than the on-location gameplay tests on event venues, to try their hands on the game in the foreseeable future, which further raises the demands for these test codes.

Last year in October, Street Fighter 6’s closed beta trial codes were being sold by scalpers for a huge price tag. Tekken 8’s test codes aren’t as expensive, considering the fact that Street Fighter 6’s closed beta test had a very limited number of selected participants compared to Tekken 8. It remains to be seen whether Bandai Namco will take action against these scalpers or not.
