New PlayStation State Of Play Allegedly Coming In A Few Days; Content Leaks Online

The official announcement might be around the corner.

Story Highlights

  • The new PlayStation State of Play is allegedly coming in the next few days, as shared by an insider.
  • The games for it have also apparently already been leaked online. It points towards a promising roster.
  • Some titles include Rise of the Ronin, Death Stranding 2, Silent Hill 2, the new Metro title, and more.

Information regarding Sony’s first-party portfolio has been a little scarce since last year, which has caused a lot of concern to the PS community in the past months. However, all that could change in a matter of a few days. Now, as rumored by two notable insiders in the gaming scene, a new PlayStation State of Play event could just be around the corner. As per NateTheHate2 on Twitter, the show is expected to drop around January 31, 2024.

Shpeshal_Nick —another prominent insider in the industry— was quick to chime in with his sources and added his two cents after gathering a matching report. Nick concludes the identical date and shares much more in a cryptic message. It includes all the Sony titles that are rumored to make an appearance in the presentation. The host of the Xbox Two podcast, Rand al Thor 19, has decoded the riddle and confirmed many predicted games.

Projects like Rise of the Ronin, Death Stranding 2, Until Dawn Remaster, Silent Hill 2, and much more are rumored to appear in the PlayStation State of Play event. Rand has also included some unannounced entries, like a new Metro game and Sonic Generations Remaster while decrypting the tweet. Besides the rumored projects by the insider, we may see a string of unannounced first-party exclusives in the coming events.

The last PlayStation State of Play presentation was live-streamed back in September 2023. It featured a myriad of games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and some other smaller Indie projects. The fans were disappointed because the show failed to reveal new first-party exclusives for the subsequent years. So, many expectations are already riding on the upcoming rumored event.

We often see multiple State of Play presentations per year. It is not surprising to have one announced for the Winter season. As a result, the community expects Sony to officially confirm the event anytime soon if the rumors are on the spot. The studios behind these projects may also participate in kindling the hype by making tweets soon. Regardless, I suggest taking the rumors with a serving of salt just to be cautious.
