Sly Cooper 5 Reveal Happening This Year, Suggests Leaker

Sly Cooper games were one of the best exclusives present on the PS3 and PS2. This platform stealth series was one of the most popular games on the old-gen consoles and also had a cult following. So, it’s no surprise that players miss this fan-favorite series on the new generation consoles. We haven’t seen a new Sly Cooper game in more than 8 years, although some rumors about a new entry have been circulating without proof. But, that might be changing soon according to a very reliable leaker.

Sly Cooper 5 is going to be revealed in the second half of 2022, according to the reliable leaker AccountNGT on Twitter. The game will make a return after almost a decade according to the account. This reveal will be about the fifth main installment in the franchise and not some minor spin-off.

This leaker has been very reliable recently so this info does hold some weight. AccountNGT also correctly leaked that Forspoken was going to see a delay in release a few days back. He also covered Star Wars: Eclipse with unreal accuracy. So, the account has a good track record with recent leaks and this is why their Sly Cooper info may be believable.

Another thing that corroborates the Sly Cooper reveal is the game’s anniversary. The game is turning 20 years old in the second half of 2022. This falls in line with the date AccountNGT has given us for the sequel’s reveal. Hence, it’s really not impossible that Sony announces the sequel on the 20th Birthday of the franchise. 

This news may also be true considering Sony supposedly has an event lined up for the second half of the year. The PlayStation showcase is rumored to be happening in September this year according to many sources. This line’s up perfectly with the Sly Cooper anniversary on September 23 and the leaker’s info. Therefore, this might be true considering all the evidence we have. Not all of it can be a coincidence. 

The leaker hasn’t provided any other information about the game as of now. We don’t know what the release window of the sequel will be. Some have talked about a potential 2024 release for the sequel. But, these are all merely rumors as of now and nothing is for certain.

The confirmation of the master thief’s return is enough as of now. Players have waited a long time for the Racoon’s return and finally seeing him on the new-gen consoles will be a delight for everyone. Whether this return to the animal populated world of Sly Cooper is true or not, only time can tell. Hopefully, we see the thieving Racoon in action later this year.
