Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s Friends And Family Plan Expanding To 6 New Countries

Xbox Game Pass is arguably the best value-for-money subscription in the gaming world. Since its release in 2018, it has become a catalyst for change and gained over 25 million subscribers, making it a success. Like other subscription models, the Game Pass also has different tiers, with the Ultimate one being the most comprehensive.

In the September of last year, Microsoft announced a family plan for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. At that time, only Ireland and Colombia got this brand-new tier, but it is expanding to six more countries now. New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden, Israel, Hungary, and Chile are the regions that will also have this Friends & Family plan.

Due to its affordability and game library, the Xbox Game Pass has become one of the best means of gaming. Microsoft has made it a fan’s heaven with day-one releases and several tiers for console and PC. Right now, there are three main tiers of the Xbox subscription available in most regions.

Console and PC Game Pass are the basic tiers available on console and PC respectively. Both of these cost $9.99 per month or $120 annually. On the other hand, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the best and most-costly tier of the service.

It gives users all of the benefits of the Console and PC Game Pass but is available on all platforms. In addition, you obtain an Xbox Live Gold membership, free in-game perks, and the ability to play games from the cloud. You can also use EA Play on both console and PC through the Ultimate tier.

Recently, Xbox announced a new variation of this Ultimate tier. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Friends & Family launched in September 2022 in Ireland and Colombia. This iteration of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has all the benefits of the original.

But, instead of restricting you to only one console or device, this allows you to use the subscription on five devices. Hence, 5 family members can use the Ultimate tier of the subscription on whatever console or PC they like. Microsoft is further extending this subscription and bringing it to six more regions.

Hungary, Israel, Chile, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sweden are the new countries that will get this iteration of Game Pass. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Friends & Family costs €21.99 per month in Ireland, which is roughly $20 per month. Hence, the pricing in these regions will be similar.

Your friends or family members joining this plan must be in the same country. In addition, if you have 1 month of basic Ultimate subscription left, it will convert to 18 extra days in this membership. Due to the meager $5 difference from the normal Ultimate subscription, many people will opt for this.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Friends & Family still hasn’t launched in the USA and the UK. But, we hope it does sooner rather than later.
