Far Cry 5’s 60 FPS patch is applicable across all game modes like solo campaign, co-op mode, Arcade, and all DLCs. Over the past decade or so, the franchise has established itself as a significant presence in the FPS genre. Far Cry is one name we can’t leave out when discussing shooting games, and rightly so. It has given us some legendary games like Far Cry 3 with in-depth stories and amazing villains.
2018’s Far Cry 5 continued this trend with its North American setting and an eccentric cult leader in the form of Joseph Seed. Due to this engrossing backdrop and its classic shooting gameplay, the FPS title became an instant hit. Far Cry 5 grossed $310 million in only its first week and became Ubisoft’s best-selling game in the eighth generation.
The studio further expanded on Far Cry 5’s world by releasing a spin-off in 2019 called Far Cry New Dawn. It also takes place in Hope County and deals with the aftermath of the fifth game while introducing brand-new RPG elements. With so much related content, it’s no surprise to see that the 2018 Ubisoft game surpassed 30 million players.
Considering how the game’s sequel, Far Cry 6, was also a commercial success, we’ll see the 7th game soon enough. But, Meanwhile, Far Cry 5 is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC worldwide with the new 60 FPS patch.
