Tears of the Kingdom’s best weapons are not available to pick in the open world but are actually crafted using the all-new fuse mechanic, which allows us to join two weapons or an item with a weapon to power it up. Most of the weapons on my list are dependent on the Fuse ability, which is unlocked at the Great Sky Island, and that is actually the tutorial area.

- The best weapons in TOTK include the best melee weapons, shields, and bows.
- The fuse ability plays a major role in making the best melee weapons.
- These are the best weapons in Tears of The Kingdom:
- Master Sword has unlimited durability and only needs to be recharged before dealing massive damage to the evil armies.
- Mighty Zonaite Longsword, fused with a Captain Construct Horn, makes for a really strong and durable weapon.
- Silver and Black enemies drop horns, and these can be fused with melee weapons and undead enemy.
- Royal Guard’s Bow, Demon King’s Bow, and Steel Lizal Bow are included in the best bows category.
Best Tears of the Kingdom Melee Weapons
The whole arsenal of weapons includes melee weapons, shields, and bows that Link can use to defeat the evil forces of Ganondorf in Hyrule. Firstly, I will list the best melee weapons that can be picked up or fused in your adventure to save Zelda. Except 1 melee weapon, all others have certain durability, and it is a necessary mechanic, as explained in this subreddit post.
Master Sword
The Master Sword was the best melee weapon in Breath of the Wild, and it retains its title in the sequel as well simply because this weapon does not break upon use. However, it needs to be charged from time to time, but that is still better than looking for more weapons when the ones you’re using break.
- Aside from its durability, Master Sword is an extremely strong weapon.
- It is especially useful against the evil forces of Ganondorf and against the final boss itself.
- You’ll need to find the Light Dragon if you want to get your hands on the fixed Master Sword, as the one Link owns gets broken at the beginning.
Mighty Zonaite Long Sword + Captain Construct Parts
The Mighty Zonaite Longsword is a really strong weapon on its own, but fusing it with Captain Construct Parts is just overkill and makes the weapon extremely deadly. The sword itself is obtained in the end-game, depending on how you play.
- Captain Construct Parts include horns dropped by Captain Construct enemies that are majorly present on Sky Islands.
- These are tougher versions of Soldier Constructs and have the ability to fuse weapons as well.
- You can fuse their horns with the Mighty Zoanaite Longsword to greatly increase the attack power.
- There are additionally four different levels of the horns that you can obtain, and the highest level horns give the maximum boost to damage.
Silver/Black Enemy Parts + Melee Weapons
You can also fuse silver and black enemy parts with other melee weapons, but the resulting craft will be weaker than what you can obtain by fusing the parts with an undead melee weapon. Black enemies can be found during mid-game, whereas black enemies mostly spawn during the end game.
Best Tears of the Kingdom Shields
Shields are used to defending against attacks, or they can also be utilized to parry enemies, which can lead to a huge opening for dealing damage. Additionally, shields are also essential for traversal as you can use these to slide in the mountains. Shields can also be fused with various items, just like melee weapons to enhance their uses further.
Hylian Shield
The Hylian Shield makes a return and definitely takes the title of Tears of the Kingdom’s best shield. If you’re looking for a shield to block massive incoming attacks and parrying, then go with the Hylian Shield. No other shield is as durable or defensive as the Hylian Shield, but aside from blocking, parrying, and traversal, there are not many uses for it.
Royal Guard’s Shield
This shield is also really strong and is one of the best shields in Tears of the Kingdom that can be used to block life-endangering attacks, but it lacks the same durability of the Hylian Shield and will break only after a few uses. However, you can save the Royal Guard’s Shield and use it only when necessary.
Cannon Shield
Yes! It is exactly what it sounds like, you can attach a cannon to a shield, and it is even better to attach the cannon to a Zonaite Shield.
- The Mighty Zonaite Shield is already really great for defense.
- The added cannon adds a layer of offense that obliterates enemies when you hold the block button.
- However, energy cells are utilized to power the cannon.
Elemental Emitter Shield
Elemental emitters can throw fire, ice, and shock on enemies while you’re guarding using the shield. Fuse these emitters with the Zonaite Shileds to get the best results and overpower your enemies with status effects whilst blocking their incoming attacks.
- Energy cells are also utilized when these emitters are used while blocking.
Royal Shield
Royal Shield is another great choice and is better than most other shields for defense in Tears of the Kingdom. However, if you get your hands on the shields mentioned above, then it is not really worth it to keep this shield in your inventory. Until then, the Royal Shield will serve its purpose of providing great defense.
Best Tears of the Kingdom Bows
Bows can be used to take out enemies from range and can even stun mini-bosses if you manage to land a headshot mid-fight. Even at the range, headshots can deal double damage with the bows, and players can efficiently switch between them and melee weapons to add variety to combat.
Here are the best Bows in Tears of the Kingdom:
Royal Guard’s Bow
This bow beats most other bows in Tears of the Kingdom in terms of damage and fire rate. It is really fast and has the potential of one-shotting enemies if you end up landing headshots which is why it is one of the best bows in Tears of the Kingdom. However, Royal Guard’s Bow’s durability is extremely low, and it is the only negative thing about the weapon.
Demon King’s Bow
The Demon King’s Bow might not seem like a powerful bow at first, but it is definitely worth it in the long run. Basically, the damage output of this bow depends on Link’s vitality; the higher the number of hearts you have, the higher will be the damage. Demon King’s Bow shines during the end game.
Steel Lizal Bow
Steel Lizal Bow is another good choice for a bow, and you should use it until you obtain either Royal Guard’s Bow or the Demon King’s Bow. Additionally, this bow is strong enough to take care of most enemies, so you can save the Royal Guard’s Bow for the toughest enemies in Tears of the Kingdom.
Summary
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom has received a lot of praise and is just as successful as its predecessor in introducing something revolutionary in the video games industry. You can obtain the trademark outfit known as the Archaic Tunic early, unlike Breath of the Wild. The Tears of the Kingdom plot is a direct sequel to BOTW, and Ganondorf as the new villain, really makes the story more interesting.
This concludes my guide on Tears of the Kingdom’s Best Weapons. I have not only entailed the best melee weapons but have also mentioned the best shields and bows.
