Story Highlights
- Alan Wake 2 has been one of the best releases all year round, developed by Remedy Entertainment.
- A new hotfix for the game brings a resolution for an annoying glitch relating to Saga.
- Other improvements for the title’s New Game Plus mode have been made as well as of late.
Alan Wake 2 is probably going down in history as one of the finest survival horror titles out there, basically the same as its predecessor. As such, Remedy continues to polish the thriller post-launch, now releasing a new hotfix for the game that takes care of an annoying Saga Anderson-related issue that impeded playability. Furthermore, multiple fixes for the New Game Plus mode have rolled out just as well.
Fixed an issue where players were unable to pick up inventory capacity upgrades as Saga at Cauldron Lake shore and at the Bright Fall’s fishing pier,” reads the post detailing the patch notes. Evidently, player reports poured in and complained about this weird glitch preventing one of the protagonists from increasing their inventory space. The issue has been rectified now.
Moreover, Remedy has emphasized creating a smoother New Game Plus experience for Alan Wake 2 players, now that the mode is finally here with the arrival of update 1.0.13. Players won’t be hassling with duplicate Charms anymore, nor will they be able to find them out in the world. In addition to that, another interesting new change is that NG+ will now “track players unlocks from all the previous games, not just from the first playthrough.” Expanding on this are the following bullet points:
- If you already have unlocked New Game Plus, you need to load any checkpoint from a non-New Game Plus session before starting a New Game Plus.
- Note: You also need to start a completely fresh New Game Plus save file for the unlocks to take effect, after loading in an old checkpoint from a non-New Game Plus session.
