Story Highlights
- Multiple Xbox ports are already hogging four out of the ten spots on PSN’s pre-orders chart.
- These ports are Grounded and multiple Sea of Thieves editions. They are selling well on PS.
- Microsoft could bring even more ports to PS if the title continues to sell at the current pace.
As noticed by NeoGAF user ManaByte, multiple Xbox ports are already dominating the PlayStation Store’s pre-orders chart. The upcoming titles have hogged four out of ten spots at the time of writing. The top-selling pre-ordered game is Sea of Thieves, which has mostly stayed on the spot since it was announced. The charts only shifted temporarily when games like Rise of the Ronin were closer to launch.
On the flip side, Grounded is currently in the third spot, only surpassed by Stellar Blade. All the Sea of Thieves editions and Grounded are the current Xbox ports that have climbed towards the top. These games have even left some anticipated ones behind, including the Elden Ring and Destiny 2 DLCs. To clarify the milestones, the pre-orders chart is made up of the current best-selling titles before their release.
Xbox May Bring More First-Party Titles To PlayStation If The Current Pace Continues
The giant gaming firm has only announced a couple of ports for the PlayStation consoles for now—Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment, besides the aforementioned ones. However, the strategy could shift massively if these titles continue to sell like hotcakes after launching. Entries like Starfield and Halo Infinite might also follow suit in the future, but nothing of the sort has been officially confirmed.
