Story Highlights
- Stellar Blade is one of the most well-anticipated games this year heading to the PlayStation 5.
- The game has shot up in popularity following the release of its playable demo, with pre-orders now live.
- It’s seen at the top of sales charts on both the PlayStation Store and Amazon at the moment.
This is why more video game developers need to release demos first, as 2023 proved to be an advocate of the thought just as well. Stellar Blade, in the wake of its playable demo going live recently, has shot up in terms of pre-order sales on both Amazon US and the PlayStation Store, climbing up the charts voraciously as we speak. At the moment, the game’s at the number one spot on both platforms.
It’s surely measuring up to be the next big thing in the PlayStation exclusive scene, and having played through the demo myself, I can say one thing for sure: The combat in this game is gorgeous (though many would find reason to believe that the latter’s not the only gorgeous thing in Stellar Blade).
Stellar Blade Knows How To Spice Things Up
In other news, Korean studio Shift Up has placed an NSFW “Skin Suit” in Stellar Blade that, despite all that it sports for the average Joe, comes with a handicap in the name of a difficulty boost. Best tread along that route carefully if you want to loosen Eve’s clothing.
However, it is concerning to me that many are jumping on the bandwagon just because of the protagonist’s looks and not other aspects of the IP, such as gameplay. I hope things change for the better when Stellar Blade actually comes out, and players start looking beyond the character model of the protagonist.

Stellar Blade is promised an April 26, 2024, release date for the PlayStation 5 exclusively. The game began life as Project Eve, following an official announcement during 2021’s PS Showcase, but later got re-branded to Stellar Blade when PlayStation showed it off at 2022’s State of Play.
