PlayStation Just Extended Its Summer Sale; Here’s What You Should Get

A new wave of offerings have just been brought in.

Story Highlights

  • The PlayStation Store has welcomed a slew of other games to its popular Summer Sale, thereby extending the promo.
  • One of the major highlights of the occasion is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, getting its best price cut yet.
  • Other high-quality games have followed suit, including Baldur’s Gate 3, God Of War Ragnarok, and others.

Just about two weeks ago, the official PlayStation storefront welcomed the Summer Sale, discounting thousands of different games, DLCs, and other pertinent items across the board. As that particular promotion has now expired, PlayStation has extended the sale with different offerings, subtracting some titles that previously received price cuts, but introducing newer promotions in the process.

Read along as I talk about some of the most riveting discounts that you can grab off the PlayStation Store right now without breaking a sweat.

Remarkable Games, Even Better Discounts

Oh, and if you spot a good deal worth mentioning here, make sure to take to the comments section below and tell me all about it.

1. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Has Received Its Best Discount Yet

Right off the bat is one of Insomniac’s best works to date, the magnificent Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that came out on October 20, 2023, for the PlayStation 5 as a first-party exclusive. Surprisingly enough, the action-adventure masterpiece has dropped to its best price yet, letting players enjoy a cool 29% off (that last 1% was real tough to make it to, hunh?) as the game’s price gets cut down to $49.69.

Rumor has it that the game will get multiple DLCs in the near future, and one of them could be Venom-oriented as well. If you’re a fan of the franchise and have still been waiting to make the purchase, now’s your chance. eXputer reviewed Spider-Man 2 and rated it 4/5, with author Usama Mehmood remarking,

Spider-Man 2 is a cut above its predecessor, with significantly improved gameplay and a narrative that tugs at your heartstrings.”

2. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition Is Currently Over 20% Off on the PS Store

CD Projekt Red has redeemed itself with the work it’s done on Cyberpunk 2077, a futuristic first-person shooter that takes pride in its dystopian, nightmarish setting, mixed with fantastic visuals, incredible gunplay, and breathtaking attention to detail that makes Night City feel alive. On December 10, 2020, fan expectations shattered as the FPS RPG turned out to be a disaster on launch.

That, however, did not stop the Polish developer from overhauling the shooter from the ground up, releasing Update 2.0, followed by Phantom Liberty — the first and final DLC expansion of Cyberpunk 2077 — thereby essentially changing the face of the RPG for the time to come.

eXputer wrote a review on Phantom Liberty as well, rating it a stellar 4.5/5.0, and praising its engaging storylines, intriguing character performances, massive QoL improvements, and more.

3. God Of War: Ragnarok Digital Deluxe

God of War Ragnarok
There’s No Universe Out There Where I Won’t Buy God of War Ragnarok

Known for its next-level immersion, top-of-the-line visuals, and, of course, sensational combat gameplay, God of War Ragnarok is a game that I wouldn’t miss for the world. Its Digital Deluxe Edition seems to be on sale right now, with a 38% discount applied to the listing. This particular variant of the game includes all of the following items as part of the “Deluxe” upgrade.

  • God of War Ragnarok PS4 and PS5
  • Darkdale Armor
  • Darkdale Attire (Cosmetic)
  • Darkdale Axe Grip
  • Darkdale Blades Handles
  • Dark Horse Digital Art Book
  • Official Digital Soundtrack
  • PSN Avatar Set for PS4/PS5

And once you’re done with the game, fire up the free, I repeat, absolutely free DLC expansion for Ragnarok released by the gems over at Santa Monica Studios, which is a roguelike take on the game’s world, and a fantastic one at that. eXputer’s 5/5 review of God of War Ragnarok Valhalla holds it in high regard, calling it a “love letter to all the old fans of this incredible series.”

4. Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3
Baldur’s Gate 3 Is 2023’s Game of the Year, And Not Without Good Reason

A game like Baldur’s Gate 3, especially an RPG, only comes along once in a fairly long while, and to be fair, I don’t see the bar getting raised even more than what this particular title has done to it. 2023’s Game of the Year, and the winner of a dozen different awards, Larian Studios has simply outdone itself with the launch of the RPG at hand.

It’s 20% off right now, and I believe this is the second time Baldur’s Gate 3 has been discounted on the PlayStation storefront. Don’t miss another chance, and make sure you get down to business right away.

5. Helldivers 2: Super Citizen

Arrowhead Game Studios has made it known that being live service does not always mean having to play a half-broken, half-bothered mess of a game. As a matter of fact, Helldivers 2 has seemingly turned out to be one of the best PlayStation semi-exclusives this generation, featuring epic cooperative combat with certain mechanics that have a lot going on for themselves.

eXputer gave Helldivers 2 a 4.5/5.0 rating while writing its review. Author Moiz Banoori remarked,

Each aspect of Helldivers 2, from its combat to the progression, feels so unique that I can’t help but continuously gush over it.”
