Elden Ring: Academy Glintstone Key Location & Quest

The Academy Glintstone key is one of the most important items in the Elden Ring. This key can be used to open the two sealed gates of the Academy and access the items inside. You will need the key to access the Academy and open its two sealed gates. 

Glintstone Key Location

You will be able to obtain two of these keys in Elden Ring, one near the Liurnia Of The Lakes and one near the Raya Lucaria Academy itself. 

Head Towards Raya Lucaria 

In order to obtain the first glintstone Academy key, you will be required to head toward the western side of the Raya Lucaria Academy.

1. In the temple quarter, head straight towards the ruins in the northwestern part of the map.
2. Locate a site of grace there; resting allows you to reset nearby enemies.
3. Leave the site of grace, head north towards floating scarabs, and find a sleeping dragon named Glintstone Dragon Smarag.
4. You don’t have to fight the dragon; instead, sneak past it to find a dead sorcerer’s corpse holding the Elden Ring Glintstone Key.
5. After obtaining the key, return to the Southern Raya Lucaria academy gate.

After that, you will be able to use the Glintstone key on the gate to open and access the Academy of Raya Lucaria. It didn’t take me much time to get the key so without wasting you time get it an proceed further.

Thops Quest Line 

As you are making your way to the academy, I would recommend you proceed further in the Thops questline in Elden ring, too. This way, you will obtain the Glintstone staff.

Follow these steps to do the quest:

1. Access the church using the map and locate the sorcerer named Thops.
2. Thops requires an Elden Ring Glintstone Key for his quest line.
3. Obtain a second Glintstone key in the Academy of Raya Lucaria after using the first key to open the academy door.
4. Progress with the main quest, including defeating the Red Wolf of Radagon, leading to a nearby site of grace.
5. Rest at the site of grace and head into the large courtyard in the northern direction.
6. Proceed outside, make a sharp left, and climb the staircase.
7. Reach a ledge, fight enemies, then move forward until you find a path on the right side of the tower.

Completing The Quest

Jumped across the rooftops and made a way toward the Church of Cuckoo. When you reach the rooftop of the Church of Cuckoo, you need to open a window and go inside. 

1. There will be a series of chandeliers here, and one will have a corpse on it. 
2. When you loot the corpse, you can obtain the second Academy Glintstone key. 
3. Give Thops the Glintstone key.
4. ow, go to the schoolhouse classroom site of Lost Grace and go outside to interact with Thops. 
5. While Thops is dead, you will be able to loot his body to get a Glintstone staff, a Thops barrier spell, and a bell bearing.

In my opinion completing the quest is worth it as you will be getting the epic staff.
