To unlock the epic longsword recipe one must have an epic crafting table. Upgrade the crafting table until it reaches epic. To do exactly this, follow the following steps:

  1. Find the Dry Valley enter a lava cave and search for Raw Copper. Make sure you collect at least 15 Raw Copper bars.
  2. Next up, by using an epic pickaxe collect 15 Obsidian and then convert them into Obsidian slabs.
  3. Locate a Brute somewhere near the Greenlands and defeat him to acquire the Brute Scale.
  4. Now you need to make an Epic Pickaxe. Which requires 8 obsidian slabs and 5 Frostpine rods.
  5. Use the pickaxe to collect Iron from snow caves in the Frostlands biome.
  6. Finally, turn the Iron into Iron Bars using the Metal Smelter.

Once you have gathered all the required stuff upgrade your crafting table until it reaches its max tier. With that, you’ll have unlocked the epic longsword recipe.
