Sons of the Forest: How To Get A Log Sled 

Unlike the previous game, the Forest, where the players were able to craft and use log sleds, they cannot make one in the Sons of the Forest. But the players will be able to make a sled using different items and resources in the game that will essentially function just like the log sled. 

How To Get A 3D Printed Sled? 

As we mentioned before, the players won’t be able to make a log sled in the game that will help them carry their items like wood and other resources. Many players were hoping that there would be a log sled available in Sons of the Forest just like the one in the Forest. Because carrying different items, especially wood, is very hard in case you have set your base already in the game.

Furthermore, you will have to travel a lot of distance as well to get important items and hunt for animals in the game. But unfortunately, the Sled that you can actually acquire in Sons of the Forest won’t actively let you transport materials in the game. However, you will be able to traverse and explore the game in case you want to save time. 

How To Make The Sled 

You will be able to craft the regular Sled by obtaining a 3D printer in the game. After that, you will need around 1000 milliliters of Pine Resin as well. 

Getting The 3D Printer 

You will be able to locate the 3D printer inside a Cave in Sons of the Forest. For navigation, you can take the help of your map and look for a green pulse. The printer will be located on the western side of the island. You need to look at the region between the snowy mountains and the ocean.

In order to use the map and the GPS system, you need to open your inventory. After that, you need to select the Emergency Survival Kit. Once you have opened the survival kit, look for the option of GPS device and select it.

When you have finally located the green marker where the 3D printer is, you need to look for a golf cart. It will be slightly overgrown, and the Cave that houses the 3D printer will be nearby. Head down to the slope and go into the dark tunnel ahead. Keep going through the darkness until you see a dim light. After that, you will find yourself in what seems like a corridor in the game.

In this underground bunker or lab, you need to look for a safe room. You will spot the 3D printer lying on a desk. It will already have 850 resin to begin with. However, since you will require 1000 milliliters of resin to craft the Sled, you can explore the room to get more resin. In case you have already used up all the resin available in the room, try playing in co-op, as it will be easy to collect resin with a friend. 

Making The Sled 

After you have enough resin to make the Sled, you need to interact with the 3D printer in order to craft it. From the options in the crafting menu of the laptop, you need to select Sled. After that, you just need to Press E in order to print it. It will take a while for the Sled to be printed completely.

However, once it’s done, you will be able to make use of the Sled in order to go to different areas and explore the further regions of the island without having to waste your time running. Keep in mind that it won’t work as the log sled in the Forest does. Instead of allowing you to place items on it will allow you to travel to distant places in Sons of the Forest. 

Using The Sled 

After you have successfully crafted the Sled, you can use it by clicking on the left mouse button to equipment. These sleds can be very helpful in going down mountains in a quicker and more efficient way. It is definitely a great investment for sliding down the hills, even if it doesn’t let you use it as storage for logs and other items.

If you are exploring through the snowy mountain, then make sure that you have this Sled in your inventory ready to be equipped because it will allow you to slide down the mountains quickly, reaching the ground. Furthermore, if you are exploring through an area with a steep slope, make sure to use the Sled as it will allow you to stay safe from fall damage.

Hopefully, there will be an update in the future that will allow you to place different items in the Sled that you can then transport to your base. The Sled is definitely a must-have item, as you will need it when you are reaching the end game. You will be required to climb up terrains and slide down some really steep slopes in Sons of the Forest.
