All SF6 Fighters Ranked

Here’s the Street Fighter 6 tier list for the entire roster:

SF6 Tier RankingCharacters
S-TierJP, Ken, Luke, and Guile
A-TierDee Jay, Chun Li, Cammy, Blanka, Rashid, Marisa, Juri, and E. Honda
B-TierKimberly, Jamie, Lily, Ryu, Dhalsim, and Zangief
C-TierManon and Aki

S-Tier

In my opinion, the S-tier characters are at the top of the meta. These characters are a slight tier above the rest of the cast. You will notice that most of the world-class players use these characters. Without a doubt, these S-tier characters are the best in Street Fighter 6.

JP

street fighter 6 tier list
JP

In Street Fighter 6, JP is considered the undisputed best character in the game by all of the top players. JP has everything you could ever ask for in a character, with little to no weaknesses. He has the best zoning tools, incredible Setplay, high damage, and much more.

Pros

  • JP’s Amnesia is the best counter in Street Fighter 6.
  • Great normals with special moves.
  • JP’s ghost can be faked to bait out parries.
  • Level 2 gives JP an unblockable setup.
  • JP’s 2MP, 5HP, and 5MP do not extend his hurt box past his hitbox.

Cons

  • A potentially slow drive rush compared to the rest of the cast.
  • Slow walk speed.
My Tip: Try using JP’s 2MP when you drive rush. That normal’s hitbox extends past the hurtbox.

Ken

Ken

Ken in Street Fighter 6 offers a rush-down playstyle that aggressive players will love. Ken’s game plan revolves around taking you to the corner from any hit, and trapping you there until the round is over.

Pros

  • Jinrai gives Ken an amazing high-low mixup.
  • Can stagger his pressure from 2MK or even 5LP using the light Jinrai.
  • OD fireball into drive rush is extremely strong.
  • Meterless side switch combo from virtually any hit.
  • Throw loops are arguably the best in Street Fighter 6.
  • Extremely easy to master.

Cons

  • Doesn’t have too big of an answer for zoning characters.

Luke

Luke

Street Fighter 6’s protagonist, Luke, is another rush-down-based character with some very stylish combos. Luke’s goal is to use his crouching medium punch to get a hit and then make his opponent explode with high damage.

Pros

  • 2MP is + on block and a great whiff-punishing tool.
  • Luke’s sandblast is extremely hard to contend in neutral.
  • One of the highest damage in Street Fighter 6.
  • Drive Rush is one of the fastest.
  • Level 1 goes through fireballs.

Cons

  • Cannot do an OD fireball and follow it up with a drive rush.
  • Timing on some combos can be difficult for beginner players.
My Advice: I recommend trying out modern Luke if you are looking to try modern controls.

Guile

Guile

Guile makes his return to Street Fighter 6 with his classic zoning-style gameplay. On top of that, he gets great pressure and setups that make his sonic booms plus on block.

Pros

  • Sonic booms have variable timings.
  • Amazing anti-air normals.
  • Has throw loops and mixups despite being a zoner.
  • Has certain setups in the corner that nearly give him infinite pressure.

Cons

  • Guile is an execution-based character, so requires excessive practice.
  • Flash kick requires a charge input to anti-air.

A-Tier

These A-tier characters might not be meta-defining like the S-tier, but they are still very strong and viable. Some of these characters have even won major tournaments. This means that you can still pick and choose from these characters without having to worry about too many weaknesses.

Dee Jay

Street Fighter 6 characters tier list
Dee Jay

In SF6, Dee Jay is undoubtedly an ignorant character. We’ve all been annoyed at one point by this menace of a character. However, it’s in Dee Jay’s design to be ignorant and annoying because of his drive rush and backsway.

Pros

  • One of the highest number of plus-on-block normals.
  • Pressure is unrelenting, with very few openings to challenge.
  • Backsway allows to shimmy and defensively counter at the same time.
  • Fastest drive rush in Street Fighter 6.
  • Falling knee can be used both offensively and defensively.

Cons

  • Dee Jay’s anti-air requires a charge input similar to guile.
  • Level 1 is not fully invincible.
Note: I recommend that you use DJ’s sway after spacing out your opponent with 2MK.

Chun Li

street fighter 6 characters tier list chun li
Chun Li

In Street Fighter 6, Chun Li boasts a clean keep-away style game plan. She relies on her slow-moving fireballs to frustrate her opponent and attack when she sees an opening.

Pros

  • Chun Li’s L Kikoken is a very slow-moving fireball, which allows her to walk behind it.
  • Level 2 lets Chun Li set up nasty safe-jump mixups in the corner.
  • Level 2 also goes through fireballs.
  • Serenity Stance low profiles many moves, including fireballs.
  • Overhead setups from her stance and drive rush pressure.

Cons

  • Top-tier zoners like JP are a horrible match-up for Chun Li.
  • Struggles to fight Rushdown characters like Cammy and Ken.
  • DP input is 22, which some players might find hard to do.

Cammy

Cammy

Cammy is one of the best rush-down characters in Street Fighter 6. She retains her iconic dive kick, which is as strong as ever. Coupled with great normals, Cammy can reset her pressure over and over again.

Pros

  • One of the fastest walk speed in Street Fighter 6.
  • Spin Knuckle can go through every projectile.
  • Dive kick is plus on block, if spaced correctly.
  • Heavy punch into light spin knuckle cannot be interrupted.
  • can get infinite blockstrings in burnout because of spin knuckle.

Cons

  • Does not do great damage.
  • Modern controls can be a bad match-up.
My Suggestion: Try incorporating dive kicks after ending a blockstring. This will punish counter most attacks from your opponent.

Blanka

street fighter 6 tier list blanka
Blanka

If you are looking to go crazy, Blanka is the character for you. Your goal with Blanka is to set up his dolls and do insane mixups. Blanka also has level 2 setups.

Pros

  • 5HP and 2MP are some of the best normals for footsies.
  • Level 2 allows to burn out his opponents while causing insane damage.
  • He can use the L ball to fake out the H ball.
  • If Blanka’s doll is out, he can do wake-up super without getting punished.
  • The air ball allows Blanka to punish throw attempts.

Cons

  • Can be a bit difficult to master at a higher level.
  • The unorthodox game plan might not be for everyone.

Rashid

sf6 rashid
Rashid

Rashid is the first DLC character in Street Fighter 6. His personality shines even brighter in this version, with many extravagant wind-based attacks.

Pros

  • Amazing pressure.
  • Level 2 can get an almost guaranteed hit.
  • Rashid can get high-low mixups from his Arabian Cyclone.
  • Arabian Skyhigh allows Rashid to bait anti-air.
  • Only character in Street Fighter 6 so far with a command run.

Cons

  • Drive Rush does not have the best range.
  • Some of Rashid’s normals are stubby.
My Tip: After drive rush, do 2LK with Rashid. This is plus 3 on block and extremely hard to check.

Marisa

Marisa

A new addition to the Street Fighter series, Marisa is a heavy-hitter that deals massive amounts of damage. Her entire game plan revolves around killing you from every touch possible.

Pros

  • Has a command grab from her stance that makes her offense scary.
  • Gladius has armor that can be used as an anti-air.
  • Stance can be used as a counter as well.
  • Level 3 will always put your opponent in the corner.

Cons

  • Gladius is not very consistent.
  • Some characters like Cammy can abuse dive kicks on Marisa.
My Opinion: I don’t think that Marisa has any bad matchups simply because she can 2-touch characters.

Juri

Juri sf6 tier list
Juri

During the start of Street Fighter 6, Juri was considered to be one of the best characters in the game. While she might not be up there anymore, she is still a very strong pick.

Pros

  • Juri’s 5HK has a disjointed hitbox, meaning it cannot be interrupted.
  • One of the fastest drive rushes in Street Fighter 6.
  • Level 2 gives Juri a reverse beat.
  • Potentially the best DP in Street Fighter 6.

Cons

  • Some matchups are extremely hard for Juri.
  • Juri’s fireball is one of the easiest fireballs to punish.
  • You need to constantly focus on getting Fuha stock.

E. Honda

e. honda
E. Honda

Honda is the most beginner-friendly character in Street Fighter 6. He does not require any execution to master and his neutral game plan is very easy.

Pros

  • Honda can easily anti-air with his headbutt.
  • You can use Honda’s headbutt as a tool to approach in neutral and chip away at your opponent’s drive gauge.
  • Buttslam allows Honda to skip neutral and is almost impossible to anti-air consistently.
  • Honda has a command grab and an overhead.

Cons

  • Honda is an unorthodox character and his potential is still not explored properly.
  • Honda lacks a fast drive rush.

B-Tier

The characters in B-Tier are also viable and great at what they do. However, they have a few glaring weaknesses that set them apart from the characters in A-tier.

Kimberly

street fighter 6 characters tier list kimberly
Kimberly

Kimberly is another new addition to the Street Fighter series. She offers a vibrant playstyle with unrelenting offense. Kimberly is also very easy to use.

Pros

  • 2MK is plus on block and can be mixed with her sweep.
  • Has a very fast drive rush.
  • Many of Kimberly’s normals are plus on block.
  • You don’t need to hit-confirm a lot of her normals.

Cons

  • One of the lowest damage figures in Street Fighter 6.
  • No invincible DP so tough to handle pressure.
My Advice: I recommend rushing down your opponent as much as possible before they get a chance to run their offense on you.

Jamie

Street fighter 6 roster tier list
Jamie

Jamie is an expressive addition to Street Fighter 6, with drink-based gameplay. The more Jamie drinks, the more moves he unlocks.

Pros

  • Great offense because of his 5MP.
  • 5HP makes it very hard to check Jamie’s drive rush.
  • Drive rush is decently fast.
  • At four drinks, Jamie arguably becomes the best character in Street Fighter 6.

Cons

  • Extremely dependent on mid-round drinks.
  • You have to give up Oki so that you can drink.
  • Jamie only becomes a viable character after 1 drink.
My Recommendation: Don’t try to be too eager to drink. I recommend getting a hit in neutral and then safely drinking.

Lily

best sf6 characters
Lily

In Street Fighter 6, Lily’s game plan is mainly focused on getting wind charges. Once Lily has you locked down, she can abuse her big normals and Command Grab to run her offense.

Pros

  • Lily can skip neutral entirely once she has wind charges.
  • Gets safe jump setups from almost all knockdowns.
  • If you space Condor Spike properly, you can get plus frames even without a wind charge.

Cons

  • No proper invincible move.
  • Level 1 is too slow.
  • It is hard for Lily to fight the top-tier characters.

Ryu

street fighter 6 roster tier list
Ryu

In Street Fighter 6, Ryu is a balanced fighter that relies on pure fundamentals. Ryu does not have any fancy gimmicks or anything that would make him stand out. His main game plan is to play clean and dish out as much damage as possible.

Pros

  • One of the highest damage in Street Fighter 6.
  • Throw loops in corner are really good.
  • Overhead allows for mixing up options.
  • Great at teaching beginner players the fundamentals of Street Fighter.

Cons

  • Slow drive rush.
  • You cannot throw an OD fireball and follow it up with a drive rush.
  • Extremely basic and no truly outlying quality.
Tip: I don’t recommend that you give up your Oki for Denjin charge. Instead, find an opening in neutral to do it.

Dhalsim

street fighter 6 characters tier list dhalsim
Dhalsim

Dhalsim is another classic character making his return to Street Fighter 6. He is a traditional zoner who relies on his long normals to frustrate his opponents.

Pros

  • Dhalsim can float, which gives him a massive advantage against characters like JP.
  • Easy to pick up and play.
  • Versatile and reliable.

Cons

  • Lack of an invincible level 1.
  • Your opponents can crouch Dhalsim’s level 2 and avoid it completely.
  • Damage requires a substantial meter.

Zangief

Zangief

Zangief is one of the most classic examples of a grappler. His grabs do so much damage that most players go into panic mode when fighting a good Zangief.

Pros

  • 5HP can be charged and has armor, similar to Marisa.
  • Level 3 is a frame 1 grab.
  • Has the farthest-reaching 4-frame normal in Street Fighter 6.

Cons

  • Struggles a lot against zoners and top-tier characters.
  • If a player reads Zangief’s grab, they can jump and get a massive punish.
  • Normals are easy to whiff punish.

C-Tier

In my opinion, only two characters in Street Fighter 6 are worth putting in the C-tier. These characters are either not explored yet or have not placed well in any major tournament. Because of this, these characters have weaknesses that place them right outside of the B-tier.

Manon

Manon

In Street Fighter 6, Manon is another grappler. She relies on her medals to get higher damage. The strongest thing about Manon is that her medals don’t reset in between rounds.

Pros

  • Strong poking normals, especially her 5MP.
  • Both level 1 and level 2 have invincible start-up.
  • Once Manon has 5 medals, she can 2-touch with her grabs.

Cons

  • Cannot do much against characters with strong projectiles.
  • Drive rush is one of the slowest in Street Fighter 6.
  • Weak anti-airs.
My Advice: Always prioritize medals over anything else with Manon. Play clean and get as many grabs/hits to reach 5 medals.

Aki

Aki

One of the first new-addition DLC characters to SF6, Aki is a psychotic killer who relies on her poison to slowly chip away at her opponents.

Pros

  • Has a stance where she can low profile almost anything.
  • Fireball is slow, allowing her to drive rush behind it.
  • You can punish stuff from full-screen away using Aki’s level 1

Cons

  • Struggles to fight the top-tier characters.
  • All of her poison projectiles have the same speed.

Street Fighter 6 Tier List Criteria

This tier list is based on my experience in Street Fighter 6 and the opinion of many world-class tier players. I closely keep up with these players, along with their tournament placements. I took into account which characters won major tournaments and coupled it with my experience to make this tier list.

My experience includes high-level international tournaments and over 750+ hours in Street Fighter 6.

This brings me to the end of the Tier List. Now that you’ve learned about the complete ranking of all fighters, which will be your main? Also, consider reading Street Fighter 6 Voice Actors, Plot, and All Editions guides.
