Alan Wake 2 All Set To Receive 60 FPS Performance Mode For Consoles

Thomas Puha, the communications director of Remedy Entertainment, has revealed on X/Twitter that Alan Wake 2 will be receiving a 60 FPS performance mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Thomas Puha also stated that initially, the game had been developed as a 30 FPS experience, but they managed to include a solid performance mode before the game’s release.

Alan Wake 2 is set to launch on October 27, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC. The game is being developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Epic Games. The 60 FPS performance mode Thomas Puha mentioned would only be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, leaving PC and Xbox Series S out of the equation.

The sudden reveal of the performance mode for the survival-horror game comes as a welcome surprise, as the game’s release is just a month away. The survival-horror game has been a highly anticipated title ever since its initial announcement at the Game Awards 2021. Note that Alan Wake 2 will not be available on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, unlike its predecessor.

Thomas Puha also claimed that the frame-rate target should be thought of from the beginning of the development. According to the communication director’s tweet, Alan Wake 2 was built while focusing on visuals and ambiance. The fact that they were able to squeeze in a 60 FPS performance mode right before the game’s release on consoles.
