Larian Studios has released hotfix #16 for Baldur’s Gate 3, introducing several gameplay improvements and bug fixes. The hotfix has also brought a much-needed improvement, which lets the player use quest-related items, even if these items are present in the inventory of companions that are currently resting in the camp. Furthermore, the cross-save feature will no longer sync modded saves, as mods can’t be accessed on consoles.
Hotfix #16 is now live for Baldur's Gate 3, handling multiple bugs, issues, and blockers.

Larian Studios also announced that Mac players will have to wait for at least two weeks. After that, Mac players will receive updates alongside PC users. The update also fixes Gale’s romance-related dialogue, which ends abruptly when Gale is asked for a kiss. Additionally, the update brings several bug fixes and crashes, including a potential crash related to quickloading saves.
According to the patch notes, other major improvements and fixes include an issue that prevented some players from advancing to Act 3. The update also fixes behavior issues of some characters that were introduced after patch 4. Hotfix #16 comes a few weeks after hotfix #15 dropped on December 21, 2023.
Aside from the hotfix, Swen Vincke, CEO of Larian Studios, also revealed that the devs at Xbox had found the firmware issue that had been causing saves games to get deleted on Xbox Series consoles. Swen Vincke further clarified that a fix for that issue is coming.
