While Among Us received little attention for two years since its inception, an influx of players came flooding after popular streamers and YouTubers played the game. Now the  memes haunt us all as the nuclear fallout after the dissipation of mainstream attention. However, it may have boosted the social deduction genre to the moon. 

Dubium is an upcoming social deduction game that is being hailed as the offspring of Pixar and Among Us due to its pleasing art style and inviting gameplay features. Dubium is currently in the process of brewing and is planned for a 2022 release. The alluring title just received a new gameplay trailer.

The new gameplay trailer introduces several characters alongside some edited gameplay. The trailer has further clarified what can be expected from the upcoming social deduction experience. Furthermore, the trailer features each character’s gadget abilities and sneak attacks, and a look at gameplay.

Dubium’s gameplay can easily be defined to resemble Among Us but with more steps and the ability to defend yourself with various arsenal at your disposal. It truly innovates on the formula and will allow for more hilarious chaos to ensue in the demo.

A demo for Dubium will be available for everyone to enjoy in the upcoming Next Fest 2022 event. You can play from 3rd to 10th October and get a taste of the game that ought to break many friendships. Moreover, the demo will serve as the perfect way to gather fresh feedback to implement changes in the final release.

If you are unfamiliar, Steam’s Next Fest event gives developers a chance to reveal playable demos of their anticipated titles and allows players a chance to discover what’s slated to release. Players can indulge in demos, watch developer live streams, and learn more about the upcoming projects even as a spectator.  

Dubium features two factions dubbed the Frontiers and the Traitors. As a frontier, you have to search the space station after the explosion to accumulate all the cores scattered around. The Frontiers will have to collect valuable Keystones and survive before becoming the target of the traitors.

On the other hand, the Traitors secretly work for Shadd’s competitor company, Blamane. Traitors will have to collect 10 Keystones and leave the ship before Frontiers notice your blunders. Traitors will have to use Frontiers as tools to trick and rid them to get their Keystones. 

It is also entirely possible for new traitors to emerge during a game. This feature will keep the Frontiers alert throughout the round, it’ll be quite difficult to trust even your closest allies while playing Dubium.
