Dying Light Lead Writer Pawel Selinger Bids Farewell to Techland After 22 Years of Service

The art director leaves the company after two decades

With the release of Dying Light 2 approaching, fans and enthusiasts are met with bad news since Pawel Selinger—Techland’s art director—has decided to leave his current occupation. He announced this officially on his LinkedIn profile.

Selinger has worked on Dead Island, Call of Juarez, and of course, the critically acclaimed Dying Light. He first joined Techland in 1999 as one of the lead artists and eventually worked his way up to recognition. His work in the famous zombie game is apparent since Dying Light’s writing is exceptionally well done.

Selinger says that he wishes for Dying Light 2 and “subsequent projects” to go big. The latter here is an interesting take on what other projects does Techland has in the works apart from the sequel to Dying Light.

Anyway, fans are hoping that Pawel’s departure does not affect the upcoming zombie thriller in any way, though it is possible that most of the writing is done by now. Still, announcing his exit before Dying Light 2’s release could mean that Selinger did not leave on good terms.
