Final Fantasy XVI Pre-Orders Could Go Live At TGA 2022

Final Fantasy XVI pre-orders are expected to be announced on December 7 or 8. However, the chances are more likely that the game will be announced along with a trailer at The Game Awards 2022 on December 8.

Final Fantasy XVI is the upcoming addition to the long-running iconic Final Fantasy franchise by Square Enix. The last mainline game in the franchise was Final Fantasy XV, released in 2016 and albeit recently selling 10 million units to claim a solid milestone.

The upcoming Final Fantasy game will feature real-time combat like its predecessor. And will be set in the lands of Valisthia.

Earlier this month, Naoki Yoshida, the producer of Final Fantasy XVI, said in an interview with Dengeki Online that the game would be revealed before the end of the year. Yoshida also mentioned that the FFXVI will not be released until the Summer of 2023.

According to Naoki Yoshida, the development of Final Fantasy XVI is “about 95%” complete. And the fans shouldn’t worry about a delay in the game’s release.

Insider Gaming, run by Tom Henderson, a former eXputer writer, has learned that Final Fantasy XVI might be revealed on December 7 or 8. It is more likely that the game will be revealed at The Game Awards 2022.

It is also possible that the game gets announced on December 7 if Sony or Square Enix decide to do a separate showcase for FF XVI a day before the TGA 2022. Final Fantasy XVI is set to launch in the Summer of 2023. However, the accurate release date will be revealed along with a trailer in December.

Also, Final Fantasy XVI will launch as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. And will remain exclusive for 6 months after the game’s release. However, after 6 months, the game will be launched on other platforms in due time, including on PC.
