  • The game brings the protagonist Jack back into action for a run beyond Dharma Tower.

Ghostrunner is sheer thrill, being an indie that pumps you full of adrenaline as you manifest into the cyber ninja that Jack has been created to be. The best part is, you’ll be slowing down time again and ripping guts out for one more run with the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2020 platformer in the name of Ghostrunner 2. The launch trailer of the title is out now, showcasing Jack back in full flight and then some.

Ghostrunner 2 traces its initial announcement back to this year’s PlayStation Showcase event, where the game was teased with brief footage, showing off Jack cutting down foes and riding a motorcycle as well, with the latter being something the prequel hasn’t managed to pull off. Fans and critics got first-hand experience of a glimpse of all this in the Ghostrunner 2 demo that the devs released last month.

Other News Pieces to Catch Up On:

Up until now, Ghostrunner has sold over 2.5 million units, developer One More Level announced in a blog post. The cyberpunk-style action platformer has been out since 2020, releasing first for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and later receiving a port to Amazon Luna, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 in the following year. It’s evident how the success of the first game green-lit the sequel.

We originally intended to make a 2 million units sold announcement, but the excitement around Ghostrunner 2 has been so incredible that we quickly jumped to 2.5+ million copies so we thought we might as well provide you the most up to date figures. Something tells us we are going to need to make a 3 million unit announcement soon! Thank you for the incredible support,” the devs said, celebrating the milestone.

Ghostrunner 2 came out on October 26, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, effectively skipping last-gen platforms. First impressions for the title look solid, and it’s currently sitting at 80 Metascore on Metacritic.
