Hi-Fi Rush Has Reportedly Outsold Forspoken On Steam By A Mile

The shadow-dropped title has achieved a lot of milestones compared to the AAA entry.

Story Highlights

  • Hi-Fi Rush has surpassed gigantic entries like GTA 5, Witcher 3, and some recently released AAA titles. The action-rhythm title has also towered over Forspoken in sale rankings on Steam.
  • Tango Gameworks’ entry stands at the 8th spot currently, falling down from its top 5 place. Forspoken is holding up the 52nd spot; it has failed to reach critical acclaim despite expectations.
  • The director of Hi-Fi Rush has commemorated the team and thanked the community for such a satisfying reception. John Johanas also thanked Bethesda and Xbox for their support.

Hi-Fi Rush is a recently released masterpiece that was shadow-dropped by the Tango Gameworks out of nowhere, and it appears to have claimed a spot on the Steam sales charts already.

The combo-driven rhythm-brawler has seemingly outsold some high-budget AAA renditions like Forspoken, as recorded by the Steam tracking site, SteamDB.

Hi-Fi Rush stands atop entries like Red Dead Redemption 2, Destiny 2, Witcher 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Grand Theft Auto 5 in the current top globally selling Steam titles. The title was in the top 5 spot yesterday while gaining favor all over the web for its satisfying gameplay, but it has since dropped down to the 8th spot.

Hi-Fi Rush has surpassed many accredited games released over the years in just a short time.

Although other giants like Hogwarts Legacy and the Dead Space Remake have overshadowed the action-rhythm brawler experience. On the other hand, the sales of the new IP by Square Enix have stooped down to the 50ths at the time of writing. Forspoken has failed to reach the expected thresholds despite all the hype surrounding it.

It is worth noting that Forspoken has likely sold more units for the PlayStation 5 port; it was high up on the best-selling Amazon charts at one point. However, Tango Gameworks’ latest entry has swiped out all the competition in its way. Hi-Fi Rush boasts over 90% positive reviews on the Steam storefront for its enticing gameplay.

On the other spectrum, the high-budget fantasy title received mediocre reviews for its flaws, including bland dialogue and high system requirements, which led to a tidal wave of criticism of the developers. Though it garnered praise for combat and innovative traversal towards its vast but arguably barren world.

Hi-Fi Rush has been a pleasant surprise during the start of 2023, gaining critical acclaim in a short span. Some users even called the game a potential Game of the Year award contender for this year. The developers at Tango Gameworks were surprised to see such a positive reception.

The director of Hi-Fi Rush, John Johnanas, thanked the community for all the appeasing reactions and streams on Twitter alongside a wholesome picture of the time.

The community, in response, continued to sing praises of the new rhythm game, which led to a rejuvenating exchange between the community. The Hi-Fi Rush director also ensured to praise the leadership of Bethesda and Microsoft for allowing them to materialize such a unique idea into a game.

Hi-Fi Rush was forged with devotion and turned out to be a highly polished experience. In contrast, Forspoken seems to fall short in many aspects, which have haunted various recent AAA games. It remains to be seen how both games trek against the upcoming anticipated entries like the Dead Space Remake and Hogwarts Legacy.
