Hogwarts Legacy Retains Its Top Spot In The UK And France

Hogwarts Legacy has taken the industry by storm since its release. The game is currently ruling the sales chart for 2nd and 3rd week consecutively in France and the UK respectively.

It’s also been crowned as best-selling for each week of 2023 since its release in major gaming pivots, the UK and France and now for Week 8, the game has retained its top spot in the UK.

Week 6 marked the first week of the game’s launch, for week 7, and now even for the 8th, the game doesn’t seem to be settled for any spot below the first.

FIFA 2023, which too is 2022’s massive success follows Hogwarts Legacy in week 8’s chart in the UK maintaining its spot for two weeks.

God Of War Ragnarok and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare II, again being 2022’s top games are still in the chart at number 4 and 9 respectively. Octopath and Atomic Heart being the new releases have still failed to come near Hogwarts Legacy.

For France, week 7’s sales data is here, and the PlayStation 5 version of Hogwarts Legacy stays at the top for the second week of its release. However, God Of War Ragnarok has dethroned the Xbox Series S version of Hogwarts Legacy and has taken the second spot following last week’s sales. FIFA 2023 is yet again in the top 5 for France as well.

Furthermore, Hogwarts Legacy’s sales and charts have been chanting about the game’s success for weeks. The game sold more than 12 million copies worldwide in just the first two weeks of its release.

Hogwarts Legacy has earned over $850 million, making it the biggest global launch ever for Warner Bros. In Japan, the game has sold more than 100,000 copies. The game even became the third biggest PlayStation 5 launch in Japan, making PS5 outsell switch in the region.

The game is competing with 2022’s GOTY Elden Ring as well. It has been reported that Hogwarts Legacy’s first-week sales were 56% above Elden Ring in Europe and 80% in the UK. Gamers’ passion for the title has been commendable as the players have spent about 267 million hours playing through the magical world of Hogwarts Legacy.

Moreover, apart from Harry Potter being the most fan-favorite series to ever exist, it has also been reported that a Hogwarts Legacy series for HBO Max is already in the works.
