A MW2 Campaign Map Sparks Latest Warzone 2.0 Map Rumors

The map is supposedly based on Mexico.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, to players’ surprise, launched with a single map called Al Mazrah. So to speak, you’ll find areas within Al Mazrah that pertain to classic Call of Duty maps, thereby making the affair not all that monotonous.

Additionally, the pre-launch blogs of the game stated that Warzone 2 would receive more maps in seasonal updates. In light of that, there have been lots of speculative guesses and rumors as to what new maps would look like.

A few days ago an alleged Warzone 2.0 map, the Rebirth Island, was making rounds on the internet. Now a campaign map has spurred the latest round of rumors about a supposed future map.

MAJOR TAKEAWAYS

  • Rumors of a supposed Warzone 2.0 are making rounds on the internet after a post made on Twitter.
  • The location seems to be based in Mexico.
  • Many were skeptical of these claims saying this was already discovered several weeks ago.

This latest rumor originates from a post made by a Twitter user. They purportedly found a campaign map that looks like a location in Mexico. Though the grounds for such speculation seem shaky, it is not without foundation.

The current multiplayer maps of Warzone 2.0 are based in two different locations. Few of them are based in Al Mazrah. While others are in a different location. Some have claimed that those are set on a map based on Mexico. These facts are backed up by the official pre-launch blog of the game.

In the blog, they had given the names of three maps. The first one was called Al Mazrah, which is already in the game, the second one the Las Almas, and the third was called Rest of The World. Las Almas is featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as a location based in Mexico.

The internet rumor mill expects this to be the map of Las Almas because of its barren desert topography. Gaming rumor aficionados have even gone further and predicted the launch date of this map.

Some expect the map to launch on the Year 2 expansion of Warzone 2.0. While some think this map might be launched along with the release of paid DLC of CoD: MW2 next year. Which is supposedly going to be released in place of another Call of Duty game.

Nevertheless, many fans have received these rumors with apparent skepticism. We also think this should be taken with a grain of salt because even though Warzone 2.0 will receive new maps there is nothing that indicates that this is the case for this “leaked” campaign map.

Few claimed that this was already discovered several weeks ago. But what is quite obvious is that Warzone fans unanimously want the Verdansk, a classic map from the first game, in Warzone 2.0.
