Mortal Kombat 1 Releases Day 1 Patch; Introduces Bug Fixes And Several Improvements

The patch didn't introduce any changes to the PC version of the game, according to the patch notes.

  • Mortal Kombat 1 has received a Day 1 patch update for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch users.
  • The game is currently available to play for Kollector’s Edition and Premium Addition owners.
  • Mortal Kombat 1 will officially be released for Standard Edition users on September 19, 2023.
  • The update brings multiple adjustments and improvements to the game for console users, alongside many bug fixes.

NetherRealm Studios has released a Day 1 patch for Mortal Kombat 1, introducing several bug fixes and improvements to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch game versions. The patch also improves online matchmaking as well as adds Season 1 content to the game’s single-player Invasion mode.

The game launched on September 14 as Early Access for Kollector’s and Premium Edition owners. Standard Edition users will be able to play the fighting game starting from September 19. It is likely that we’ll see more small patches before the game is made available for the Standard Edition users.

The update also improved and refined the UI while also adding and improving accessibility options to improve the overall user experience. Several new finishing moves were also added to the fighting game with its first patch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users. Full tutorials, fatality practice, and practice mode were available for Nintendo Switch players.

The Switch users will now also be able to access full story campaigns, as well as online gameplay. Additional characters and kameo roster were also added as part of the Switch-specific update of Mortal Kombat 1.

Mortal Kombat 1 is the twelfth main installment of the long-running fighting game franchise. The game was initially announced on May 18, 2023.
