The weapons have been adjusted for a smoother gameplay.

Story Highlights

  • The new Modern Warfare 3 update has brought many weapon changes, performance and bug fixes, and more.
  • The devs have especially focused on rebalancing the weapons and the Zombies mode in the new patch.
  • Some visual issues related to guns and maps were tackled in the patch with gameplay improvements.

Sledgehammer Games has finally launched the latest Modern Warfare patch notes for November 22, 2023. It addresses plenty of issues and improves upon many weapons we know and love. The devs have concentrated most of their resources on rebalancing the weapons and ironing out a few bugs related to gameplay and maps. An annoying crash occurring for some players while viewing Weapon Challenges was also mended by the team.

The patch has tinkered with three machine guns and three assault rifles. However, the main focus was to reduce the lethality of the FR 5.56 and DG-58. Both guns will now need you to do two headshots to kill an enemy with a single 3-round burst fire. These changes want to improve the consistency and viability of the submachine guns. The Modern Warfare 3 balance changes for the selected assault rifles are shared below:

As a side note, the devs only recently stated in an interview that submachine guns were going to receive buffs in the future. Sledgehammer Games has followed through and made minor but gripping changes to three submachine guns in the new patch notes:

An exploit allowing players to equip camos that were yet to be unlocked was patched by Sledgehammer Games. It also resolved the dilemma that prevented players from equipping the Borealis Weapon Camo once it unlocked. Additionally, you cannot equip attachments to a weapon in MW3 that are incompatible with the current selection.

The FPS came out to a mixed reception on November 10, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC. eXputer’s Huzaifah Durrani reviewed Modern Warfare 3 as one of the worst titles he’s ever played, marking it only with a 2/5 score. MW3 greatly fell short in its brief and lousy narrative, bad mission choices, open combat missions, and some multiplayer aspects but was praised for gunplay and visuals.
