Story Highlights
- Palworld, a survival-based third-person shooter by Pocketpair has been released in recent times.
- Pocketpair has made it official that the title has rolled over 5 million units as of late.
- Sales keep piling up for the Pokemon-inspired game, and it’s only been 3 days into its release.
This just in right before the Palworld X (formerly Twitter) account admin makes a post about the game crossing 6 million units sold because quite honestly, that is the pace with what things are proceeding at the moment. Japanese developer Pocketpair launched its Pokemon- and Ark-inspired RPG to immense acclaim recently, rolling over 5 million copies of the game merely 3 days into its release.
#Palworld has sold over 5 million copies in only 3 days!
Thank you soooo much!

As it seems, the last three days have been chock-full of surprises for both the gaming community and the developers of Palworld themselves. That’s because no one really anticipated the sprawling success that the title at hand would go on to enjoy, now that it’s out and about, making a killing across the spectrum and tearing up Steam charts like there’s no tomorrow.
As a matter of fact, we reported earlier today that Palworld has sold more than 3 million copies, and guess what? We’ve had to issue two more updates on this front, with each of them coming up after every new million. Oh, and the sales figures aren’t the only interesting part here; fairly effectively, Palworld’s concurrent player count on Steam is currently the highest there is, overtaking the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, and a number of other goliaths.
Taking to X, the official Palworld account made another post recently, affirming that the game reached the 3rd highest all-time peak in Steam’s history, trailing just behind Counter-Strike 2 and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds. If things go the way they’re going right now, it’s certainly snatching that second spot away from Counter-Strike 2, that’s pretty much a given at this point.
[3rd highest all-time peak in Steam history! ]
Steam users currently playing #Palworld has exceeded 1.5 million!
Thank you so much for making us the 3rd highest concurrently played game on Steam ever!
We are working hard to make the game as enjoyable as possible.

As with every other thing in life though, things aren’t a 100% smooth on the back end. Palworld devs claim that they’ve been sifting through death threats from people around the world on their personal email accounts and social media signals. That’s an extremely undesirable situation, and surely nothing that a person deserves only for working on a video game. Unwarranted toxicity at its finest.

Palworld came out on January 19, 2023, for the Xbox Series X|S and PC. eXputer reviewed the third-person shooter and rated it 4.5/5.0, with reviewer Rabiya Rizwan remarking, “Palworld is one of the most unique games in the survival genre, which is often generic and repeats the same elements in almost every other title.”
