Rocksteady Tells Players To Avoid Suicide Squad Spoilers Amidst Major Leaks

The game's coming out early next year.

Story Highlights

  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is targeting an early 2024 release for current-gen platforms.
  • Various leaks and spoilers are currently circulating the internet regarding Suicide Squad’s story.
  • Developer Rocksteady warns folks not to get into any of that and avoid spoilers diligently.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an upcoming venture by WB Games and Rocksteady Studios—the famed developer behind the legendary Batman: Arkham franchise. Ahead of its global release date, Suicide Squad has had a host of its gameplay sequences and story details dumped online in recent times, and in response to that, Rocksteady has issued an official statement to express their thoughts on the matter.

It is very disappointing to see details being shared ahead of the game’s release, so we can only urge you to try to avoid spoilers where you can. And please try not to impact the enjoyment of other players by posting spoilers,” says Rocksteady, hoping that players can dive into Suicide Squad blindly without ruining the full experience for themselves when the title finally comes out.

We’re looking forward to players experiencing the story we’ve crafted in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League once the game launches in the new year. We hope everyone can play the game and feel each moment of the narrative for themselves.”

The scenario is certainly far from desirable, especially for Rocksteady and the rest of the lot who’ve been slaving away on the project up until now. In recent times, a leak relating to Poison Ivy surfaced, and somehow, we’ve already gotten our first look at Suicide Squad’s major antagonist, Brainiac. Three weeks ago, the live service shooter’s intro gameplay popped up on the internet as well.

Therefore, some pretty hefty spoilers are roaming online, so best to trek with caution with great care on popular social media platforms and Suicide Squad-focused forums at least, such as the r/SuicideSquad subreddit. These are some hotspots that you’re definitely going to want to avoid, more now than ever, considering that it’s already known about the death of one of the most important in-game characters.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is coming out on February 2, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s a live service shooter that’s played from a third-person perspective, set in Metropolis and exhibiting an interesting narrative for DC Comics fans—bad guys are saving the planet from the good guys, basically.
