Sonic Frontiers Is Out In The Wild; Expect Spoilers Ahead Of Release

Someone has already bought a physical edition of the game.

Sonic Frontiers—Sega’s and Sonic Team’s well-anticipated upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog game—has had quite a rough time lately. A month ago, the Super Sonic Boss Fight and the intro cutscene for the title were leaked, not to mention other possible boss fight leak showcases before that.

Now, however, the latest word surrounding the action-adventure platformer tends to inspire even more concern for potential Sonic Frontiers spoilers. Evidently, some stores have broken the game’s street date rule and are now selling its physical copies ahead of the official release.

The Rundown:

  • Sonic Frontiers, belonging to one of Sega‘s most prized IPs, is slated for a November 8, 2022 release date on major platforms and gaming systems, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and, of course, Nintendo Switch.
  • A Twitter user has seemingly posted a photo of the physical edition of Sonic Frontiers while holding it in their hand online. This indicates that some stores around the world have broken the street date rule for the game.
  • Since one user has managed to get their hands on the game, others will follow. Expect mood-ruining spoilers down the road and watch yourself while browsing the internet.
  • Many also seem to believe that the physical copy of Sonic Frontiers posted online is a fake, and anyone could’ve created this unit of the game in a store.

Since the game’s actual release is far out from the time of writing this article, there’s plenty of potential for spoilers to leak out, given the current state of Sonic Frontiers.

Twitter user Cahloosh has posted the following on his behalf, thereby affirming that the game is already out and they’re not going to put out any spoilers for Sonic Frontiers, so fans can rest assured. With that said, the OP does suggest people to keep a keen eye out for anything that could trouble you moving forward.

Although the box art for the game looks pretty convincing, some are of the opinion that what Cahloosh has posted on Twitter isn’t the actual Sonic Frontiers title. The major points individuals are drawing is that the person involved hasn’t shown the disc nor the back side of the cover.

People accuse the poster of setting this whole show up, but on the flip side, God of War Ragnarok seems to be be suffering from the same fate. The internet is going wild these past few days thanks to the floating leaks and end-game gameplay videos of Ragnarok. Do beware if you’re a fan of the Ghost of Sparta.

In other news, the sound director of the title—Tomoya Ohtani—has stated that Sonic Frontiers has unique soundtracks for each Cyber Space and Guardian, which further creates hype for the upcoming action-adventure. Do let us know whether you’re excited for this latest release in the comments section ahead.
