Back when the title launched for the PlayStation 5 in October, Insomniac made an announcement, detailing the day-one update and other pertinent details. Under that thread, a concerned fan asked whether the NG+ mode would be available for players on launch, to which Insomniac’s Marketing Director James Stevenson replied that it would be added in by the end of the year, which is long gone now.
Fast-forward to December and Insomniac posted another official piece of news, offering an update on the NG+ front. It confirmed that the feature should be available for players in early 2024, along with a number of other anticipated changes, such as mission replayability, and the option to change Peter’s tendril color at will.
We’ve heard your feedback and will be adding some highly requested features, including the ability to change the time of day, swap tendril colors, and replay missions – just to name a few! We can’t wait to share more with you in the future. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience as our team works to finish our next update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” said Insomniac.
On a side note, though, Insomniac became a victim of a lethal cyberattack in recent times, which paved the way for a hefty amount of projects to come to light that the developer had kept in secrecy. The latter includes extended Marvel’s Wolverine gameplay, a number of games that the studio has in development, and more.
Here’s an analysis of what really went down in this scenario, along with the stand that Sony took in the wake of the event.
