Activision Confirms New Call Of Duty Mobile Game

"Developing in collaboration with Activision studios around the world, work on a new AAA mobile game in the Call of Duty franchise has begun."

Even if you are a casual gamer, there is every chance you have played Call of Duty. The game is one of the most famous and profitable in the industry. It’s present everywhere from PC’s to consoles and now even mobile devices. The game has got even more coverage recently due to the acquisition of Activision by Microsoft. Everyone is speculating about the future of the game under Microsoft. One of those spheres of interest is the mobile gaming platform. As a result of a new job listing, we may have an insight into Activision’s plan on this front.

Although there were leaks on new COD Mobile, as spotted by Tom Henderson – it was all speculation at that point. Now though, we have confirmation.

According to a new job listing, Activision Mobile studio is hiring to develop a new AAA mobile title in the Call of Duty Franchise. This new info is present in a hiring call for an Associate Producer by Activision in the Mobile gaming division. The listing includes info about the job and the new game.

It goes on to say, “Welcome to Activision Mobile. We’re a new in-house studio, dedicated to developing the best AAA mobile games in the world. Our first project is a new AAA mobile title in the Call of Duty franchise.” So, the job clearly mentions the studio and their new Call of Duty game for the mobile. 

Furthermore, the job also includes a lot of info about the Activision Mobile studio. The listing says, “Activision Mobile is an emerging team within Activision Publishing focusing on both publishing and live-operations for Call of Duty Mobile along with our new in-house studio dedicated to the development of AAA mobile titles.” 

It also gives us even more info about the new AAA game based on Call of Duty. The job listing goes on to say, “Developing in collaboration with Activision studios around the world, work on a new AAA mobile game in the Call of Duty franchise has begun.” This is massive news about the game. The fact that the studio has started work on this game tells us it’s in the early development stage.

Microsoft did mention that there would be an increased emphasis on mobile gaming after the Activision deal. So, it’s fair to assume this is just the start of that project. There is already one Call of Duty game on Mobile. Aptly named Call of Duty: Mobile – it is very popular among mobile gamers. 

This info is massive for the mobile gaming market. It’s a platform with a lot of potential and Millions of consumers. Almost every person on the planet has a smartphone in the present day. So, putting games on such a vast market is a way to control one of the biggest platforms in the gaming world. And Microsoft is trying to do exactly that with their cloud gaming service; as they noted in the acquisition, “Mobile is the largest segment in gaming, with nearly 95% of all players globally enjoying games on Mobile. Through great teams and great technology, Microsoft and Activision Blizzard will empower players to enjoy the most-immersive franchises.” 

As of now, this is all we know about this new AAA Call of Duty for Mobile. It’s still in the early works, according to the job listing. So, it may be some time before we hear official news about this project. But the prospect of a new Call of Duty on Mobile has got us all excited.
