Phil Spencer Wants PS And Nintendo Users To Be Part Of The Xbox Community

In an interview with Famitsu, Phil Spencer said that “many Nintendo Switch and PlayStation users will be thought of as part of the Xbox Community in the future.” This statement by Microsoft Gaming’s CEO shows that the company intends to consider everyone who plays Xbox games as part of their community instead of limiting it to those people who own the home console.

The reason behind Phil Spencer’s Statement was that due to their acquisition of Activision-Blizzard being a success, they can now put more Xbox games, such as Call of Duty, on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch than ever before, making them a part of Xbox’s community. It also makes the players on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch feel included as part of something that expands beyond a console.

Aside from expanding their community to multiple platforms, Phil also talked about first-party titles. When Phil Spencer was asked about releasing major works in the next few years, they replied that they plan to release first-party blockbusters roughly every three months.

Furthermore, Phil was asked about more Square Enix titles and their compatibility with Xbox Game Pass. The Microsoft Gaming CEO replied that they spoke with Square Enix’s new president, Takasi Kiryu, and they said, “From now on, we will support Xbox more. Additionally, Phill also revealed that they are happy that Final Fantasy 16 will be compatible with Xbox Series consoles in the future.

The Activision-Blizzard-King deal with Xbox that took place a while ago expanded new horizons for the company. It was the biggest deal in the history of the gaming industry and would certainly affect how things go for Xbox and its competitors in the future. But judging from the interview, it appears that Xbox plans to focus on first-party titles as well as expanding their community to different platforms.
