Rocksteady Studios, although shifting direction from its critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham series, is now focusing on a live service project in the name of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The game’s about to release in a month from now, so in an attempt to allure a bigger player base, the devs have released a new trailer for the title, revolving it around the PlayStation 5’s immersion potential.
I’ll be honest here—the PlayStation’s 5 DualSense has been a real game-changer in this generation of home video game consoles, and it’s something that the Xbox Series X’s gamepad just can’t replicate. As with a bevy of other titles that feature curated optimizations for the DualSense, especially PS5 exclusives, Suicide Squad is about to get special treatment in this regard just as well.
The 30-second footage shown above asks players to expect haptic feedback — vibrations that buzz throughout the real estate of the controller — and adaptive triggers when playing the third-person shooter in question. Said triggers offer a deeper level of immersion during your playthrough of a supported title, with the component of the controller matching the frequency of the actions carried out in-game.

Oh, and it’s not just the DualSense that factors into play here: Sony released another piece of high-tech accessory with the onset of the PlayStation 5, the Pulse 3D wireless headset. Suicide Squad looks all set to feature 3D audio in-game that’s best enjoyed with a dedicated headset. Combine that with the efficacy of the DualSense, and you’re looking at a pretty fun time ahead.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will finally make landfall on February 2, 2024, after suffering a delay that pushed the title out of its 2023 release window. The live service shooter is planned to be released on the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with no cross-gen support.
