Games like Granblue Fantasy Relink often have fewer tanks and more DPS. However, there are quite a few tanks available in-game that can enhance your combat experience. If you are planning to main a DPS character, then you must have the best tank in Granblue Fantasy Relink. After spending hours testing different characters, I managed to find the 4 best tanks.
- There are nearly 20 characters in Granblue Fantasy Relink.
- Among those 20, there are some tanks, and I have ranked the 4 best ones.
- I have ranked the tanks based on their capabilities as a tank and their best defensive skills.
- Vane is the best tank in-game due to his great defensive abilities.
- Vane’s skills are a little complicated to understand, but they are worth understanding.
- Aside from that, Katalina and Mian characters can also be used as tanks.
- Vaserga is also a great tank, but his offensive capabilities can affect the gameplay.
- Why Trust Us: Obaid has spent over 15 hours in Granblue Fantasy Relink, so he has a lot of information on the topic of best tanks, making him a trustworthy source of information.
Best Tanks In Granblue Fantasy Relink
The following is an overview of the best tanks that I have tested personally in-game:
Tank | Element | Best For |
---|---|---|
Vane | Water | The Best Tank In Granblue Fantasy Relink |
Katalina | Water | The Best Early Game Tank In Granblue Fantasy Relink |
Main Character | Wind | The Best Balanced Tank |
Vaseraga | Dark | The Best Tank With High Offensive Capabilties |
1. Vane
- Why I Chose This: I chose Vane because he helped me a lot as a tank, and he refused to go down.
Vane is arguably the best tank in Granblue Fantasy Relink. He can tank many hits and still stay at the frontlines on the battlefield. While the character doesn’t have high offensive moves, Vane can surely take hits. His skill, Breakthrough, allows him to move the focus of the enemies on him, which can save you from a pinch.
He also has a skill that grants him Guts, +Attack, and +Defense. Furthermore, Vane has a skill called Soul Eruption, which I would highly recommend you unlock. If you use this skill, it will restore all of Vane’s HP and remove any type of Debuff inflicted on him. However, you can only activate it when his HP is at or below 30%. Vane has been the party of the party for a long time now due to his unparalleled abilities as a Tank.
- Has great defensive capabilities.
- Can take a lot of hits and stay alive.
- Can restore all of his health with a skill.
- His skills are a little complicated to understand.
2. Katalina
- Why I Chose This: Katalina is available from the start and has some defensive and offensive capabilities that can be helpful in combat.
I personally like Katalina a lot as she was the healer and tank of my party for a while. She is a well-balanced tank that can take part in offense while protecting her teammates. Katalina has some of the best offensive skills that can help you a lot in combat. What makes her one of the best tanks in Granblue Fantasy Relink is her Light Wall skill.
This skill allows Katalina to grant invincibility to the entire party while Ares is summoned. Her other defensive skill, Emarld Shiled, grants +Defense and Stout Heart to Katalina. These buffs can also be applied to the teammates if Ares is summoned. It should be noted that Katalina’s capabilities as a tank revolve around the summoning of Ares.
- Has defensive and offensive capabilities.
- Grants buffs to the teammates, too.
- Is available from the start.
- Her skills are effective when Ares is summoned.
3. Main Character
- Why I Chose This: I chose the main character as a Tank character because he has a lot of defensive abilities that let him take damage instead of the allies and can even remove debuffs from everyone while providing healing.
You can play the main character as a tank, healer, and DPS. While he isn’t my top pick in Granblue Fantasy Relink, he is surely one of the best ones. I prefer using him as a sub-DPS, but he can do a great job at being a tank with the perfect build. If you are planning to use the MC as a tank, I would recommend giving him Clarity skills, as it removes all the debuffs and regenerates everyone’s health.
Aside from that, the character also has the Substitute skill that grants him +Defense, and he takes damage in place of all the allies. He can also grant debuff immunity to the entire party with the Veil skill.
- Has a lot of defensive skills.
- Can heal and remove debuffs.
- Can take damage in place of all allies.
- Strongly lacks offense when being used as a tank.
4. Vaseraga
- Why I Chose This: Vaseraga can be used as a tank and can deal some good damage on the battlefield, making him a great option!
Vaseraga is a complete unit in Granblue Fantasy Relink. He can deal some tremendous amounts of damage even as a tank. If you are planning to use him as a Tank, then it would be better if you play him yourself. He has a skill called Netherwrath that allows him to take damage in place of all allies and counters based on the damage endured.
You can also hold the skill button to maintain a defensive cover. I’d recommend pairing that with the Forgotten Tails skill, which grants Hostility and Drain to Vaseraga. This will allow the enemies to focus on him and give the DPS character a chance to deliver the finishing blow.
- Can do high damage even as a tank.
- Dosen’t go down that easily.
- Has great defensive skills.
- More focus should be on the defensive side.
- There are better options available.
My Take On The Best Tank
The best tank, in my opinion, is Vane due to his high defensive capabilities and the fact that it is nearly impossible to kill on the battlefield.
Except for Vane, the other best tanks in Granblue Fantasy Relink are Katalina, Main Character, and Vaseraga. However, I would recommend going with Vane, as he has the best defensive capabilities among the other three I have mentioned.
