Story Highlights
- After Helldivers 2, Ghost of Tsushima also needs a PSN account on PC, as devs confirmed.
- The PSN account will be required to play multiplayer mode and use the PlayStation overlay.
- The entry is set to be released for PC on May 16, 2024, 4 years after the original PS4 launch.
After the recent Helldivers 2 PSN fiasco, the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima PC port is also asking players to link their PSN accounts before playing. The devs at Sucker Punch Productions clarified the pre-requisite over on Twitter while answering a query. To elaborate, players will have to connect their PSN accounts in order to play the “Legends” multiplayer mode and access the PlayStation overlay.
Thank you for your feedback.
Just so you are aware, A PSN account is required for Legends online multiplayer mode and to use PlayStation overlay. It is not required to play the singleplayer game.

However, it is worth mentioning that linking the PSN account is not needed to enjoy the single-player Ghost of Tsushima experience. Unlike Helldivers 2, the requirement seems to be optional, but it has still drawn criticism from some of the annoyed fans.
Ghost Of Tsushima Is A Hallmark Of PS4 First-Party Titles
Sucker Punch Productions completely nailed the open-world RPG for the PlayStation 4, as it excelled in visuals, combat, exploration, and in many other mechanics compared to other IPs. It is no surprise the entry gathered the highest number of gameplay hours—of any title—on the PS+ service last year and sold over a million copies in Japan. The PC port’s sales also soared through the Steam charts soon after it was revealed earlier this year.

Ghost of Tsushima’s original release on July 17, 2020, left a deep mark on the gaming industry. While an expanded Director’s Cut version came out the following year for PS4 and PS5, fans have patiently waited for a PC port over the years; however, a few toxic individuals were less than happy to see its appearance on PC. It is set to release on May 16, 2024, for Steam.
