Gotham Knights Playtest Deleted From SteamDB

Playtesting for Gotham Knights has supposedly concluded, unveiling the final file size for the game.

Gotham Knights, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s upcoming open-world action role-playing video game was first announced back in August 2020 and players have since been waiting anxiously for the release of “the most dynamic and interactive Gotham City yet”. At the start of last month, it was revealed that Gotham Knights had entered playtesting after a soon-deleted playtest page for the game appeared on SteamDB. Since then, it seems like the playtesting has finally concluded, unveiling a few details for the game.

Earlier today, the Gotham Knights Playtest application, that surprisingly appeared on SteamDB, was deleted, suggesting that the ongoing playtesting for the game has finished. Previously, we reported that the file size for Gotham Knights was found to be slightly above 86 GBs. However, the file size has now decreased but not by much, ending at 85.19 GBs, which means that some features of the game were likely removed.

Furthermore, it can also be noticed that Gotham Knights Playtest lasted for a total of 10 days, with a peaked player count of 256 players on 1st April, which could suggest that this playtesting may have been part of a closed beta for the game. However, it could also have been some large-scale in-house playtesting within Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, so we’re not sure which one could’ve been the case.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that Gotham Knights is still under development and, most likely, will receive multiple optimizations before the final release. Still, no word on any public beta testing has come out yet, as this playtest appears to be in-house. With the release of the game approaching, it seems like that will be happening soon.

In March, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that Gotham Knights is scheduled to release on 25th October 2022 in an official tweet on the game’s Twitter account. Since then, many players are eager to play the game for themselves, particularly since it had been rumored for a while. With the removal of Gotham Knights Playtest from SteamDB, we can safely assume that the company is adding the final touches to the game, so players won’t have to wait for long.
