Best Rune Farming Spots in Elden Ring
As we have discussed earlier, runes are very important in Elden Ring. From leveling up to buying materials, everything is dependent on runes. So it is absolutely necessary that you should know about the best farming spots for runes in Elden Ring. Now we will discuss in complete detail these amazing farming spot locations.
6. The Troll Near Third Church Of Marika

The Third Church of Marika can be easily found in the eastern region of Limgrave near the Mistwood. The church presents one of the best farming spots for the early game in Elden Ring. There is a single troll near the church wandering alone in the area.
The troll can be easily dealt with using early-game gear and incantations. It will drop 1000 runes upon defeating it. You can very easily and efficiently grind a large number of runes by continuously killing that troll near the Third Church of Marika.
You will very quickly get enough runes to level up and buy new weapons in the early game. It will also help you to upgrade your weapon before fighting Margit, the Fell Omen. A single Troll is quite easy to take on, and you will realize that once you begin farming.
5. The Troll Carriage In Limgrave

It is one of the best early-game farming spots for runes in Elden Ring. Located near the Waypoint Ruins Cellar in Limgrave, there is a carriage that is being moved by two Trolls. There are many fodder enemies that are guarding the carriage as well.
Each Troll can be defeated to get 1000 runes. So you can get 2000 runes by just killing the trolls. It should also be noted that the trolls are extremely easy to take care of. Since they are chained to the carriage, there is not much the trolls can do to defend themselves. You just have to keep slashing away at their health bars until they die.
You can additionally kill the fodder enemies around the carriage for extra souls. However, doing that is not very efficient, but it is still better than nothing. Although if you do decide to grind at this farming spot in Elden Ring, then you will be all set for the early game.
Margit is one of the hardest early game bosses, but you can easily over-level using the Troll Carriage and take care of him easily. It is definitely one of the best locations to farm runes at the beginning of your Elden Ring journey in the Lands Between.
4. Bestial Sanctum In Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow

Although the Bestial Sanctum in the Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow should be tackled near the end-game, the enemies near the sanctum are perfect for farming runes during mid-game. Greoyll’s Dragonbarrow can be accessed even before fighting Margit.
You can either choose to travel to the Dragonbarrow using Torrent or just follow D’s NPC questline to get yourself teleported directly inside the Bestial Sanctum. Do not engage the Black Blade Kindred boss fight outside the Sanctum, as you’ll be severely under-leveled for it at that point.
There are many Vulgar Militiamen scattered around the area of Bestial Sanctum. These are relatively small enemies with swift movesets that you can handle during mid-game as well. They drop approximately 1000 runes per Vulgar Militiaman killed.
However, stay clear of the traps as there are many laid down by the Vulgar Militiamen. Just use torrent to traverse around the area and pick off these enemies one by one. Keep doing this until you have enough runes to over-level yourself for the mid-game. Bestial Sanctum presents a great farming spot for mod-game players in Elden Ring.
3. East Capital Ramparts In Leyndell, Royal Capital

It is another great location to farm runes during the mid-game in Elden Ring. You will reach Altus Plateau once you defeat two Shard-bearers. From there, you can easily make your way inside the Royal Capital by defeating the Draconic Tree Sentinel.
Start your farming route from the East Capital Rampart Site of Grace. Follow the path, and you will come across many mushroom-shaped enemies holding horns in their hands. Kill them, and you should obtain approximately 370 runes per mushroom enemy defeated.
There is also a bigger Mushroom-shaped enemy along the path that you will encounter. You can kill it to obtain an additional 600 runes in Elden Ring. Finally, you will face a gargoyle that breathes fire near the end of the path. Kill that gargoyle to get 3000 more runes.
Sometimes the gargoyle can also drop 16000 runes, but that depends on RNG and your luck, so keep farming. The route mentioned above should only take you 2 minutes to farm 10,000+ runes making it one of the best farming spots that players can use in Elden Ring.
2. Prayer Room In Elphael, Brace Of The Haligtree

Elphael is one of the end-game areas, and it is also very well hidden in the game. If you’re having trouble reaching the Haligtree, then consider reading our Elden Ring Haligtree Medallion Location Walkthrough guide. Once you’ve reached the Haligtree, beat Loretta and make your way to the Prayer Room in Elphael.
It is a high-risk, high-reward farming spot. Enemies will deal massive damage, so it is advised to carry a Shield around for more protection. However, the difficulty comes at greater rewards as you will be farming almost 32,000 runes per minute in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.
Start from the Prayer Room site of grace and make your way to the outside. Kill all the knights that you see in your path until you reach a dead end. Keep heading straight until you reach the room filled with Clear-knot Knights.
Do not engage with these Clear-Knot Knights, as they are unnecessarily hard and can gang up on you as well. Just kill all the normal knights before that room, and you should have obtained 32,000 runes by now. Keep repeating the process from the Prayer Room, and you should have around 2 million runes very quickly. It is for that reason alone why Elphael presents a great farming spot for late-game players in Elden Ring.
1. Albinauric Farm In Mohgwyn Palace

It is the best method of farming runes in Elden Ring even after so many updates. Available in an end-game area known as the Mohgwyn Palace, this route will net you 32000 runes in under a minute, depending upon the weapon you’re using.

You can easily farm almost 30,000 runes in under a minute in the area. The Albinaurics are located very close to the site of grace and are fairly easy to handle. Moreover, you can even stun these enemies due to their low poise.
