Elden Ring: All Memory Stones & Locations

Unlike previous Soulsborne games, Elden Ring features a unique "Memory Stone" item found by exploring that increases your spell slots.

In previous Soulsborne games, spell slots were tied to certain stats you had to level up. FromSoft decided to go with a different system in Elden Ring, tying spell slots to a limited item you find. That is why you must learn everything about Elden Ring’s Memory Stones and where you can find the locations for all of them.

Key Takeaways
  • Memory Stones have no effect after you’ve acquired 8.
  • You can get all 8 Memory Stones in one playthrough.
  • You can increase your maximum Memory Slots to 12 using the “Moon of Nokstella” Talisman.
  • 2 Memory Stones drop from bosses, five are acquired from “Rise” towers, and one is purchasable from a merchant.

What Are Elden Ring Memory Stones

Unlike previous Soulsborne games, Elden Ring features a unique spell slot system. Every class starts with two bases “Memory Slots.” These slots are used for equipping all sorts of incantations and sorceries.

The main method to increase your memory slots is acquiring Memory Stones. These unique items can be purchased from merchants, received upon killing certain bosses, and completed puzzles throughout the game.

How To Equip Memory Stones

Unlike the Moon of Nokstella Talisman, which has to be manually equipped to increase the number of memory slots you can access, Elden Ring’s Memory Stones are used automatically upon acquisition. Additionally, the memory slot-increasing effect of a Memory Stone is irreversible and has no downsides.

All Memory Stone Locations

Here is the summary of the memory stone locations:

Elden Ring’s Twin Maiden Husks (Vendor) Memory Stone

To find the Twin Maiden Husks Memory Stone, I followed these steps:

First up, the easiest Memory Stone to get. I’m starting with the one purchasable from the Twin Maiden Husks vendor found in the Roundtable Hold.

Upon arriving at Roundtable Hold, just take the first door to the left and keep going in that direction.

Next, you’ll want to go past Gideon’s room and find the vendor in the next room, on your right.

After interacting with the husks, you’ll want to select purchase. This will open up the main shop menu, allowing you to purchase the Memory Stone.

Just make sure you have the required 3,000 runes.

Ordiy’s Rise Memory Stone

To get Ordiy’s Rise Memory Stone, do the following:

The first Memory Stone puzzle is in the lower part of Limgrave, past the Bridge of Sacrifices.

Elden Ring Oridya's Rise

Upon Arriving at the tower, you’ll notice a statue holding a glowing book. This provides a hint for the puzzle you need to complete to deactivate the seal blocking the entrance to the tower.

Entrance and puzzle to Oridya’s Rise

For this puzzle, you need to “Seek three wise beasts.” The beasts are three magical turtles scattered around the tower that you must slay. In my opinion, the first one is very easy. Right after activating the statue, turn around, and you’ll see the first turtle right before you.

First turtle opposite of the entrance

The second turtle will be hidden inside a bush to the left of the stairs leading up to the tower’s entrance.

The last is a little more tricky. First, you’ll want to head to the right from the stairs until you encounter a little pond. Eventually, you’ll notice periodic splashes in the water if you wait a little while. Evidently, this turtle is invisible, and you’ll have to hit wherever the splashes are.

Upon killing all three turtles, you’ll get a text pop-up that tells you the seal is broken. Enter the tower from the previously sealed opening and head up the ladder. After getting off the ladder, just turn right and follow the stairs to a chest room.

This chest will contain your Memory Stone.

Converted Tower Memory Stone

If you want to find the Converted Tower Memory Stone, follow the steps i did:

A little different from the previous one, this Elden Ring Memory Stone requires a small jumping puzzle to get to. This time in Liurnia of the Lakes, you’ll want to go to the left side of the map past the lake to find the tower.

Elden Ring Converted tower

First up, you’ll want to jump on the broken wall to the right of the entrance and follow it up until it stops ascending. Doing this part on your mount is possible, but I recommend doing it on foot to make it easier.

Once the wall becomes flat, you’ll want to mount up facing the tower. From here, you’ll have to double jump onto the roof, then double jump again onto the platform leading upwards.

Lastly, like before, just follow the stairs upwards until you reach a room with a chest containing your Memory Stone.

Red Wolf Of Radagon (Boss) Memory Stone

If you want to find the Red Wolf Of Radagon Memory Stone, I recommend doing as written below:

For the first boss based Memory Stone you’ll encounter in Elden Ring, you’ll want to defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon boss present within the Raya Lucaria academy.

If you’re struggling against this boss, I recommend using slash damage. A faster weapon would also help, giving you ample time to react to his attacks and dodge accordingly.

Upon defeating the boss, you’ll receive your Memory Stone.

Tetsu’s Rise Memory Stone

To find Tetsu’s Rise Memory Stone, I suggest the following:

This is another turtle puzzle, but it’s a little tricky. First, you’ll want to head to the Liurnia tower again, above the academy of Raya Lucaria.

Elden Ring Tetsu's rise

Once you interact with the book statue this time, skeletons will begin spawning to hinder your progress as you complete the challenge. These skeletons will continue coming until you kill all three turtles.

The skeletons that will continue spawning

The first turtle is pretty simple, and you’ll find it north of the tower on a slight hill close to a ledge.

The second one’s on a lower level of the island; you can see it from a pile of rocks south of the tower.

The last turtle’s east from the tower. You’ll find this one hanging onto a tree. While it may not look like it, you don’t have to use ranged weaponry or spells to hit the turtle; hitting the tree itself would cause the turtle to fall and complete the challenge.

After slain all the beasts, you can return to the tower and head up to claim your reward.

Seluvis’ Rise Memory Stone

To locate the Seluvis’ Rise Memory Stone in Elden Ring, I recommend the following:

Unlike the previous “Rise” locations that required puzzles, this one’s much simpler.

Elden Ring Seluvis' Rise
Seluvis‘ Rise location on the map

You’ll have to get through the entire Caria Manor section to reach the tower. Afterward, you’ll notice the tower’s sealed, but there’s no puzzle. Don’t worry; all you have to do to open it is talk to Ranni in Ranni’s rise and head downstairs, where Seluvis will invite you to his tower.

Once you reach it, you can talk to him or ignore him. Either way, you just have to head up the ladder, then stairs like any other tower, and get your Memory Stone from the chest.

Demi-Human Queen Maggie (Boss) Memory Stone

The path I would recommend for getting the Demi-Human Queen Maggie Memory Stone:

Similar to the Red Wolf, this Memory Stone drops from another boss. This time, you’ll be looking for the Demi-Human Queen Maggie. You’ll want to head to Mount Gelmir to the “seethewater River” site of grace.

From Seethewater River to Seethewater Terminus

From here, I would suggest just following the canyon and being careful with the explosions until you reach the “seethewater Terminus” site of grace.

Elden Ring path to Demi-Human Queen 2
From Seethewater Terminus to Craftman’s Shack

Follow along the edge of the lava lake until you reach the Craftman’s Shack. During this route, you might encounter a dragon and a bear that try to fight you. If you ask me, I would advise running past them for now, as they won’t chase you.

From Craftman’s Shack to Primeval Sorcerer Azur

Lastly, follow uphill from the “Craftman’s Shack” Site of Grace until you see the queen and 2 Glintstone Sorcerers. Nevertheless, you can run past them all, for now, to unlock the “Primeval Sorcerer Azur” Site of Grace, as it can be a useful checkpoint if you happen to die.

I recommend using fire against this boss, as she’s weak. Once slain, the queen will drop your Memory Stone.

Lenne’s Rise Memory Stone

To get Lenne’s Rise Memory Stone, do the following:

The final Memory Stone in Elden Ring is yet another jumping puzzle, in the northeast area of Caelid this time.

Elden Ring Lenne's Rise

Upon reaching the tower, you’ll notice the entrance blocked and the statue was broken. Therefore, I’ll use the Spiritspring near the tower to jump inside.

Elden Ring Lenne's Rise entrance
Entrance with Spiritspring on the right

You’ll need to mount up and jump in the Spiritspring, allowing you to see the tower rooftops. From here, you’ll want to aim for the square rooftop.

Land on the highlighted roof

I recommend dismounting to slide down to the balcony from here with ease.

Elden Ring Lenne's Rise balcony

After dropping to the balcony, take the first door from the left. Afterward, keep moving forward and use the elevator. Like before, you’ll just need to take the stairs up, and you’ll see your reward right in front of you!

I hope this guide helped you gain a better understanding or find any Memory Stones you missed out on during your Elden Ring playthrough! And lastly, we recommend you find all Golden Seeds so you can put some juice into your blue flask to be able to cast more spells.
