How To Unlock Flipendo Spell

Flipendo is sort of a mid-game spell, meaning you have to play a bit of the game in order to get it eventually. You possibly cannot miss it too because it can coincide with your main quest as well. Like most spells, Flipendo is also taught to you by someone. Most of the time, it’s a Hogwarts Professor, and this time it will be Professor Garlick. She teaches the Herbology class, which is why the tasks she gives you are based on plants and seeds.

Prerequisite

Professor Garlick Assignment Number 1

Before you jump into the second assignment, of course, you have to complete the first assignment. It will be logged as “Professor Garlick’s Assignment 1” in your quest book or log. So you can just see from there the tasks you have to do in order to complete them. Acquire and use the Venomous Tenatacula and Mandrake on different opponents.

Once you have done these tasks, you must head back to Professor Garlick and learn the spell Wingardium Leviosa. On a side note, you can watch our video guide and learn how to get the Wingardium Leviosa spell in Hogwarts Legacy.

Do keep in mind that its LeviOsa, not LeviosA. When you return to Professor Garlick, assignment 2 will be logged. You must also be at level 16 in Hogwarts Legacy, as the quest will then be locked. So make sure you complete the main stories and side stories side by side and gain XP. Doing these prerequisites is how you can move on to get the Flipendo in Hogwarts Legacy.

Professor Garlick’s Assignment 2

In order to get the spell, you have to do this particular side quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Because doing the tasks in the assignment will be the key to unlocking the Flipendo as a reward. You can find the Assignment on your quest log with about two particular tasks. These two tasks are not exactly hard but time-consuming. Nonetheless, it is the adventure in Hogwarts Legacy that makes it such an amusing game.

  • You Have To Grow And Harvest Fluxweed.
  • Acquire All Three Combat Plants And Use Them Simultaneously.

Start with the second task first because it is more convenient, but yes, it doesn’t matter how you approach these missions. First, you have to move your location to the Hogsmeade as you travel by using the Floo Flames. Right up north, there is a store known as Dogweed and Deathcap. It is basically a magical plant shop where you can buy various plants and seeds. Use your flying Broomstick to get there.

Upon Entering the store, you will meet Beatrice Green. She is the one from whom you buy the three seeds for the Combat Plants. You have to buy the Chinese Chomping Cabbage Seeds, The Mandrake Seed, and The Venomous Tentacula Seed from her. The Chinese Chomping Cabbage will cost you 600 coins, 800 coins for the Mandrake, and 1050 for Venomous Tentacula Seed. It is a bit pricy, but come on, guys, don’t you want Flipendo? Of course, you do.

Buying Fluxweed

After buying the Combat Plants, you have to head to the North-west to a location known as “The Majic Neep”. It is also a place to buy seeds and different magical fertilizers. You can talk to Timothy Teasdale and buy the Fluxweed from him. It will cost you about 150 coins which is a bargain at most. Now you have all the seeds you need to collect for the Flipendo in Hogwarts Legacy, but you have to know how to grow them and get the Potting Tables.

Growing Seeds

In order to grow the seeds, you have to plant them at Table Pottings with respect to the plant size. Now head to Tomes And Scrolls, from where you will buy the planting tables. For the Fluxweed and Venomous Tentacula Seeds, you have to buy the Large Pot, For the Chinese Chomping Cabbage Seeds, a Medium one, and a Small one for the Mandrake. It is going to be costly, so make sure you have about 3000 coins.

Head back to the Hogwarts Map, and Fllo, fire your way to the secret Room Of Requirement. From there, you must conjure each table and plant the respective plants on their potting tables. The Large Plants will take 15 mins, The Medium 12, and The Small 10 minutes to grow. So yeah, that’s some free time you could use to roam around the halls of your house or test out all of your spells at NPCs. Not that it would do anything; this isn’t GTA.

Backtracking To Professor Garlick

Now retrieve the three crops and cast them anywhere in Hogwarts Legacy. It doesn’t really matter if you use it in Battle or not. You can have fun with them if you want to, though. Collect the Fluxweed, and you will have each task completed for the assignment. Backtrack towards Professor Garlick in the Greenhouses. Once you reach there, go ahead and talk to Professor Garlick.

Learning Flipendo

Once you talk to her, she will teach you how to do the spell by drawing or tracing a specific symbol. The symbol may vary from spell to spell. Sometimes it may resemble the first letter of the spell. For Flipendo, there is a wiggly type of symbol that is easy to trace, but you have to be quick. The Red Streak follows you quickly, so make sure you are agile and can make those sharp turns. Once you reach the end Flipendo icon, you will have unlocked the spell.

How To Use Flipendo

As said before, Flipendo has similar characteristics to the original spell in books, movies, and games. What it does is it sort of controls the enemies and thrashes them backward or upwards. It forces enemies out of their places, making them more vulnerable. This is why the spell can be considered one of the best-supporting spells in the game. Of course, it is not in the league of spells like Crucio or Avada Kedavra, but it can do the job.

When you combo it with spells like Expelliarmus, it can do a good amount of damage to any opponent, including the bosses. You have to set these combos yourself and try to get used to them. It will really help your battle strategy and improve your pace in the game, as that is how you get to use Flipendo in Hogwarts Legacy. Flipendo has an amazingly quick cooldown, so you do not have to worry about it being loaded up like Glacius

A major use of Flipendo is actually when you use it in puzzles. You can flip objects and try to solve different pieces of puzzles throughout the open world of Hogwarts Legacy. Sometimes there are obstacles blocking your path, which need to be Flipendo-ed in order to remove them. So all in all, it is an extremely resourceful spell to have by your side. It can also break the shields of enemies but yes, not all.

Type Of Spell

The Spells Section

Since there are so many spells in the game, they have been categorized into different types. For example, the Arresto Momentum is a Control type spell. When we talk about the Flipendo, it is a Force Type spell and is actually one of the four force-type spells. The others are Accio, Depulso, and Descendo. You can use these spells to take advantage of your surroundings and use them against your enemies.

The Force Type spells tend to make way for the Damage spells in battles. These spells have sort of a supporting role in battles as they don’t really damage that much but are merely for distractions or shield breaks. But that doesn’t mean they are not powerful, and they are extremely useful.

If you manage to create the right combos with Flipendo, you can even defeat major bosses without taking much damage from them. All in all, you have to mix and match the correct types of Spells together, as, during a battle, you can only select a few. When it comes to Flipendo, you must always pair it with a control spell and finish off with a damage spell.

Final Words

Flipendo will definitely be worth all the effort you went through to get into Hogwarts Legacy. It is how you use it that matters in the end, so make sure you have fun with it.
