The Udirangr Warwolf build is the classic Strength archetype in Lords of the Fallen, favoring aggressive melee-oriented combat with bulky weapons. Unlike some hybrid in-game builds, the Warwolf is best suited to focus only on Strength since there are several Strength weapons that can easily tear through enemies.
- The Udirangr Warwolf is one of the nine starting classes in Lords of the Fallen, focused on equipping and using Strength Weapons.
- The Udirangr Warwolf build features some of the best damage output and stunlocking ability, but it’s much slower compared to other in-game builds.
- For an optimal build, players should ideally use a melee-only build using high-scaling Strength weapons and heavy armor.
- Besides that, they should continuously level up the Strength, Endurance, and Vitality attributes up till their respective soft caps.
The Best Udirangr Warwolf Build In Lords Of The Fallen
Here’s a brief overview of the ideal Udirangr Warwolf build that you can test out in Lords of the Fallen:
ATTRIBUTES | WEAPONS | HEAD | TORSO | ARMS | LEGS | RINGS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
– Strength – Endurance – Vitality | – Angel's Axe (Early-game) – Sword of Skin and Tooth (Mid-game and Late-game) | – Ruiner Helm | – Fitzroy's Armor | – Hallowed Knight Gauntlets | – Fitzroy's Leggings | – Mineowner's Ring – Ring of Duty |
Recommended Attributes
The Warwolf prioritizes high damage output and Encumbrance in Lords of the Fallen. And while you can level up other attributes like Radiance, Inferno, or Agility to get a hybrid archetype, I’d recommend sticking only with a close-range melee build.
Here’s a list of the priority attributes for Udirangr Warwolf build in Lords of the Fallen:
Strength
- Strength is the primary attribute of the Udirangr Warwolf, letting you wield and utilize Strength Weapons.
- Upgrading Strength also increases the Attack Power of your weapons.
- From my experience, you should regularly level up this attribute up till its soft cap – Level 35.
Endurance
- Following Strength, Endurance is another crucial attribute for Strength builds in Lords of the Fallen.
- It upgrades both your stamina and equipment load, letting you equip heavier weapons and gear.
- You should prioritize Endurance during the mid-game phase and level it up to anywhere between Level 35 and 40.
Vitality
- Vitality increases your Maximum HP, Defensive Stats, and certain Resistances like Bleed, Ignite, and Poison.
- While this may be an obvious choice, Vitality is especially important for a Strength build since you won’t be using any shields to resist attacks.
- Combined with the fact that you’ll be attacking at close range, Vitality encourages you to remain aggressive throughout engagements.
- Level 40 is the sweet spot for Vitality until you start seeing minimal improvements, so I recommend boosting this attribute to that exact level.
Best Weapons
As mentioned, the Udirangr Warwolf class primarily uses Strength-based weapons for its build in Lords of the Fallen. These weapons are slow and require you to have high Encumbrance, but the damage output at the end is worth the wait. You can see how good a Strength weapon is by going into your Equipment menu and seeing the weapon’s attribute scaling.
Early-game – Angel’s Axe
While it may be slower and heavier than most early-game Strength weapons, the Angel’s Axe is the most effective weapon that you can use at this stage. As a Grand Axe, most of its moves revolve around downward slams, which can even automatically dodge some enemy attacks in Lords of the Fallen. You can find the item near the Forsaken Fen Vestige after soulflaying a statue while in Umbral.
The Angel’s Axe has the best damage output out of any weapon by far early on. Furthermore, its attack pattern and swings cover a fairly long range, but the best thing about it is the Axe’s insane staggering ability.
Late-game – Sword of Skin and Tooth
I’ve personally used the Sword of Skin and Tooth the most during my initial Lords of the Fallen playthrough, and I consider it to be an ideal weapon for a Udirangr Warwolf build. Unlike the Angel’s Axe, this Grand Sword offers a sweet blend of damage, range, and speed. Furthermore, the Sword’s airtight combo strings, especially on the regular attacks, paired with its impressive stagger potential, barely leave any vulnerabilities mid-combos.
You can find the following weapon beyond the hidden wall near the Lower Calrath Alehouse Vestige.
- From the Vestige, simply drop down to the lowest floor and head outside into the loop.
- Then, turn left and sprint to the wall past the Trapper, after which you must use your Umbral Lamp to locate and traverse the hidden path.
- The path will ultimately lead you to a chest where you’ll find the Sword of Skin and Tooth.
Recommended Armor
As a Udirangr Warwolf, you should equip the heaviest armor in your inventory while making sure you’re under Heavy Load. However, you can also equip heavy armor sets if you want to keep a consistent look.
Ruiner Helm
The Ruiner Helm is a Heavy Head that you can farm from the Ruiner in the courtyard near the Lower Calrath Alehouse Vestige. While this helm may be weak against Holy damage, it’s uncontested in Physical Damage Mitigation compared to other headpieces in its weight class.
Fitzroy’s Armor
The Fitzroy’s Armor is a Heavy Torso that offers some of the best stats in Damage Mitigation and Resistance. Most Heavy Torso pieces in Lords of the Fallen are often weak against a certain attack type, but Fitzroy’s Torso doesn’t suffer the same drawback.
Here’s how to get the Fitzroy’s Armor set, including the Torso piece, near the Lower Calrath Depot Vestige:
- Head back to the entrance of Lower Calrath and continue following the narrow path backward.
- Once you’re out in the open, follow the path on the right and head straight to reach an abandoned Watchtower.
- Climb the series of stairs and ladder to get to the top of the Watchtower.
- At the top, you should spot a large bonfire and a chest beside it with Fitzroy’s armor set inside.
Hallowed Knight Gauntlets
For your arms, the Hallowed Knight Gauntlets are a premium set of Heavy Arms in Lords of the Fallen. They’ve got a great balance between weight and defense, so you won’t have to dump tons of Vigor into Endurance.
You can buy the Hallowed Knight Gauntlets from Stormund, the Captain of the Fidelis, near the Vestige at Skyrest Bridge.
Fitzroy’s Leggings
Finally, Fitzroy’s Leggings are a great choice for lower body protection since they’ve got impressive stats in Damage Mitigation, specifically Physical and Fire. Like the corresponding set, you can find the following Leggings atop the Watchtower near the Lower Calrath Depot Vestige.
Best Rings
For most of my playthrough, the rings I got were either too situational or weren’t useful to my build. In the end, my ideal pair of rings for a Udirangr Warwolf in Lords of the Fallen were the early-game ones since you can notice their effect in almost every encounter.
Mineowner’s Ring
The Mineowner’s Ring raises your maximum stamina and stamina regeneration rate, letting you perform longer attack strings. Besides that, the added stamina regeneration lets you roll away and continue your attack more consistently, keeping you on the offensive and building up the enemy’s posture.
Here’s how you can get the Mineowner’s Ring in Lords of the Fallen:
- Starting from the Redcorpse Windmill Vestige, follow the upward path, and you should find a corpse hanging from a house’s rooftop.
- Use a throwing item to aim and shoot down the corpse, after which you can loot it to receive the Mineowner’s Ring.
Ring Of Duty
I’ve highlighted that Endurance and Vitality are key attributes for a Strength build, which is why the Ring of Duty is a top choice. This ring boosts your Vitality and Endurance, helping you gain a fair chunk of health and Encumbrance.
You can purchase the Ring of Duty from Stormund for 3000 Vigor at Skyrest Bridge.
My Experience With The Udirangr Warwolf Build
After playing Lords of the Fallen for more than 20 hours, I’ve extensively used the Udirangr Warwolf as my primary build. Fortunately, I’m happy to report that the title has been a breeze so far, thanks to the aforementioned gear. The items I’ve discussed and personally used were relatively easy to find.
While I’ve tried almost every single single Strength weapon, the Angel’s Axe has been my favorite. It feels extremely impactful and satisfying to use, and the bosses I faced with it were easily defeated. For more potency, I switched to the Sword of Skin and Tooth after reaching the Alehouse, and I used it for the rest of my playthrough.
That wraps up my extensive guide on the best Udirangr Warwolf build in Lords of the Fallen, covering the items and attributes you should look out for. As discussed, the Warwolf is an ideal archetype for aggressive players, so if you fit that playstyle, you should definitely choose this as your starting class.
