  • A few tricks can help you increase Collection Level fast, and in turn unlock cards quickly.

How To Unlock Cards

Cards in the game are unlocked by upgrading the Collection Level. If you don’t know what the Collection Level is, is the number in green right underneath your Avatar.

So, if you want to unlock new cards, then you’ll have to increase the Collection level. When you increase the Collection Level, you’ll get cards along with several other rewards. These rewards include Boosters, Credits, and many more.

When you just begin the game, you’ll find that you’re unlocking a card with almost every Collection Level increase. That seems great until you progress in the game. When you get into the Pools system, you’ll unlock one card after a few Collection Levels. We’ll explain what Pools are in a bit.

Upgrading The Cards

Anyways, if you want to increase the Collection Level, you’ll have to upgrade the Cards. With each upgrade, you’ll get a specific amount of Collection Level. Cards can be upgraded in the Deck Building menu. There, look for any card that is Shimmering. Tap on it and on the Bottom Right corner you’ll see an upgrade button. Press on it and it will take you to the upgrade Menu. There, Tap on the upgrade button, and your card will upgrade.

With each upgrade, you’ll get a specific amount of Collection Levels. For each card, the cost of upgrade and Collection Level gained is the same. Here is how it goes.

  • Upgrading From Common to Uncommon gives +1 Collection Level
  • Upgrading Uncommon to Rare gives +2 Collection Level
  • Upgrading Rare to Epic gives +4 Collection Level
  • Upgrading Epic to Legendary gives +6 Collection Level
  • Upgrading Legendary to Ultra gives +8 Collection Level
  • Upgrading Ultra to Infinity gives +10 Collection Level

To upgrade a Card’s rarity, you’ll need Booster and Credit. You get boosters by playing matches. The more rounds you play, the more booster you get. It is 1 turn for 1 booster. The booster will be assigned to a random card. Whereas credits are easily acquired by missions and season pass.

Not only that, you can upgrade different variants of a Card to further increase your Collection Level. These variants are bought at the shop for Gold.

Card Pools

Card Pools categorize the cards in the game. There are a total of 3 Pools in the game, they are called Pool 1, Pool 2, and Pool 3. Pool 1 starts from Collection Level 18 and ends at Collection Level 214. After a few Collection Levels, Pool 2 Starts. Pool 2 will last from Collection Level 222 to Collection Level 474. Then, from Collection Level 484, Pool 3 starts. Pool 3 has all the remaining cards in the game.

Now, remember, Pool 1 for all players will have the same cards. When Pool 1 ends, you’ll have the same cards as any of your friends who finished Pool 1. The same is for Pool 2. But, the main difference is the order of unlocking them in a Pool. You can’t expect to unlock the same cards as your friends at the same Collection Level.

Tips And Tricks To Unlock Cards Quickly

If you want to unlock all of the cards quickly, then you’d need to understand how the game works. We’ve prepared some tricks that helped us quickly unlock cards in just a few days. You’ll still be playing the game, but your goals will be different. So, here are the tips.

Keep Playing

The first and foremost tip to unlock cards is to keep playing. As you play the game, you’ll get boosters. These boosters will be the same as the number of turns in a game meaning one booster for one turn. For example, if you have 5 turns in a game, then you’ll get 5 boosters.

The boosters will be randomly given to a card in your deck. You can use it to get boosters for certain cards that are about to upgrade.

The best way to do it is to make a custom deck. In that deck, put in all the cards that are about to upgrade. Apart from those cards, the custom deck should have cards that haven’t been upgraded yet. These are the Common cards with grey borders. We’ll explain that in a while.

When you play games, you’ll get boosters for the cards in your deck. That way, you can pinpoint certain cards that you want to upgrade. In turn, it will help you quickly unlock newer cards

Prioritize Daily Quests

When you complete daily quests you are rewarded with Credits and Season Pass points. Yes, the season pass points are great, but the main deal is the Credits in the game. If you frequently play the game, then you must’ve run out of Credits. Daily quests are one of the best ways to get Credits.

You’ll be using these credits to upgrade the cards using the Boosters you got from our last tip. When you progress to your Collector Level, you’ll eventually be unlocking new cards.

Don’t Buy Fast Upgrades

When you visit the shop in the game, you’ll find the Fast Upgrades shop. These might sound tempting to upgrade. But if you plan on playing the game for a longer duration. If you play the game daily, then it isn’t the thing you should be going for.

The Fast Upgrades will upgrade the Collector level, but if you look at it closely, it isn’t worth it. We’ve mentioned before that you’ll run out of Credits when you’re upgrading the Cards. The Credit will in the future be the limiting factor instead of the Boosters. So, don’t get the fast upgrades, and use your Credits to only upgrade the cards using Boosters.

Upgrade Grey/Common Cards First

Focus on the Common or cards with grey border first. There’s a reason for that. If you check out the Credits cost for upgrading from Common to Uncommon, it is 25 Credits and 5 Boosters. But when you go from Uncommon to Rare, it becomes 100 Credits and 10 Boosters. All of the Upgrading costs are;

  • Common to Uncommon 25 Credits and 5 Boosters. Gives +1 Collection Level
  • Uncommon to Rare 100 Credits and 10 Boosters. Gives +2 Collection Level
  • Rare to Epic 200 Credits and 20 Boosters. Gives +4 Collection Level
  • Epic to Legendary 300 Credits and 30 Boosters. Gives +6 Collection Level
  • Legendary to Ultra 400 Credits and 40 Boosters. Gives +8 Collection Level
  • Ultra to Infinity 500 Credits and 50 Boosters. Gives +10 Collection Level

They don’t mean a lot until you break them down. From Common to Uncommon, you’d need 5 Credits for 1 Booster each. And 1 Collection Level costs 25 Credits. But, when you go from Uncommon to Rare, it will cost you 10 Credits for 1 Booster each. And the Collection Level cost becomes double, with 50 Credit for 1 Collection level. The rate remains the same from Uncommon to Infinite rarity.

We’ve mentioned before, there is no limit to how many Boosters you can earn in a day. But there is a limit to how many Credits you can earn in a day. So, upgrade your cards with Common rarity or Grey Border first. As it will give you the most Collection Levels earned by spending Credits.

Sacrifice Cubes

Our 5th tip to unlock cards quickly in Marvel Snap includes sacrificing the Cubes. Cubes help you increase your rank in the game. The more cubes you earn, the higher your rank will be. You’ll earn cubes by Snapping the Cube on top of the screen in a game. But if you want to unlock more cards quickly, then you’d have to sacrifice these cubes. It is a complete strategy that we’ll explain briefly.

What you gotta do is pick up all of the Common or Grey border cards in your deck. You should put in those, or the cards that are about to be upgraded. Because even though it is inefficient to upgrade cards other than Common for Collection Level, it is beneficial if you want to quickly unlock more cards.

If your deck doesn’t have any cards that make a notable combo, don’t worry, we aren’t planning to win anyways. When you have your Deck ready, start a match. In that match, keep playing without Snapping the cubes on the top. When you’re on the final turn, Retreat.

When you retreat, you’ll only lose 1 Cube. But you’ll get 6 boosters for one of the cards that are about to upgrade. You can exploit it to target the cards that you want to upgrade to increase your Collection Level. If you seem to run out of Cubes to rank up, you can always check out the Best Ways to Snap to rank up.

Final Words

To unlock a card, you’d need to increase the Collection Level. Increasing the Collection level is quite easy if you know what you’re doing. All you have to do is upgrade your Cards using the Boosters that you get from every game. Now remember, you’ll get 1 Booster for each turn you play. So your target is to play as much as you can before you use the Retreat button from our trick. That way, you’ll have more than enough Boosters for all the cards that you plan on upgrading.
