Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s UK Retail Sales Have Already Dropped By 89%

It is not too out of the ordinary, however.

Story Highlights

  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sales have seen a noticeable decline of 89% in the weekly UK retail sales figures.
  • The plunge is not too out of the ordinary and is “on the higher side of normal,” as per Christopher Dring.
  • It is currently in second place in the UK retail charts for the week. WWE 2K24 has hogged the top spot.

As reported by GamesIndustry head Christopher Dring on Twitter, the UK retail sales of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth have seen a decline of 89% during its second week. The latest AAA release by Square Enix has taken second place in the sales figures. On the flip side, the new WWE 2K24 has peaked at the top spot, with its launch sales rising by 26% compared to its predecessor.

While the drop in retail sales of FF7 Rebirth can be worrisome, Chris thinks that it’s “on the higher side of normal.” Additionally, a drop in digital sales is suspected to be much less by the community.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Is A Massive Leap Over Trilogy Part 1

The second part of the FF7 remake trilogy steps it up a notch and improves just about anything seen in the first remake. From the flashy real-time combat to huge amounts of mini-games, there is a lot of fun to be had in the fantastic reimagining of an already unforgettable RPG adventure. I find it unsurprising that it became the second-most downloaded PS5 game in February in a single day.
