Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Becomes The Second-Most Downloaded PS5 Game In February

To put things into perspective, the game came out on the last day of the month.

Story Highlights

  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has become the second-most downloaded entry on PS5 in February.
  • The title quickly tore through the ranks in a single day to reach second place in both the EU and US regions.
  • The first spot was hogged by none other than the latest third-person shooter sensation, Helldivers 2.

As revealed by Sony in a new blog, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has soared through the ranks to become the second-most downloaded PS5 title in February. Helldivers 2 is the only title to overshadow the newly released remake, and there is a good reason for that. Part 2 of the remake trilogy came out on the last day in February. In other words, it tore through the echelons of the PS5 charts to secure the second spot in a matter of a single day.

FF7 Rebirth may have hogged the top spot given enough time. However, it has still overshadowed many giants in the gaming ecosystem, including Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, EA Sports FC 24, GTA 5, and many more.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Is A Hearty Recreation Of The Series’ Original Essence

Square Enix’s latest release has been showered with praises after release. The RPG manages to preserve the essence of the original Final Fantasy 7 while innovating in all the right ways possible. The compelling story mixed with fun side activities, like the huge amounts of mini-games, deeply complements the excellent combat of the game.
