The Spec II 1.40 update will also update world circuits, adding 5 new regular events and 2 expert race events for the players to take part in. The developers have also introduced a new QoL feature in the form of an “Event Directory” button that shows the player all the events that can be entered. The “Event Directory” button saves the player a lot of time and can quickly start races right away.

The new update patch notes have also revealed Gran Turismo Sophy, an AI driver agent that can participate in a quick race with the player. Note that this feature will only be available on the PlayStation 5 version of the game. The Gran Turismo Sophy AI is much more clever than the regular AI, and that will be reflected in the races as well.

PlayStation 5 users can now take part in 4-player split-screen races with their friends. This feature is not available in the PlayStation 4 version of the game. Additionally, the players can now join the paddock to communicate with other players and inspect their cars. Paddock can be accessed through the Multiplayer Menu and from the World Circuit menu.

The game was released on March 4, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Gran Turismo 7 has also won 2022’s The Game Awards for Best Sports/Racing Game.
